CL-P offset with 17 rims????
CL-P offset with 17 rims????
i DID use the search function, but it seems like everyone but me has a type S, but anways, all of the rims that i am looking for has a 40 offset! And i have read that since i am plannin on getting comptech Springs, then i should do no less tha 48 offset! The only problem is that these shops say that 40mm will work with no problems?
Also for tires i am thinkin like 215/50/17 like your guys type S.
I would like to get som 225/50/17 but i am afraid of rubbing when i drop it.
What do guys think of this rim! It is the one that i am leaning towards. I only have $1000 to spend on rims.
The rims that i like are the ADR Demonya i think! I tired to post
A pik, but i guess 1kb is the max.

Suggestion:
Have a look here at the wheels on TireRack for your CLP:
http://www.tirerack.com/upgrade_gara...&autoYear=2001
Call them on Monday with some of the 17x?? wheels you are "possibly" interested in (that are on their web page) and ask them the offset of each of the selections. (It might be instructive to get the offsets for the 17x7 and 17x8 wheels THEY sell...) You can also ask about tire sizes at the same time (they are rather conservative about tire size/wheel size combos -- it's in their interest to not have wheels and tires being returned!
The steering rack allows for a tighter turning circle in a CLP vs. a CLS, so you might want to get a "range" of minimum to maximum tire and wheels combos to get an idea of what the middle ground is.
There are some threads here that have "conflicting" info about what will and wont fit on a CLP vs. a CLS.
Knowing the max drop (1", 2" or 3") would also make a large difference in what you can run.
IMO, the +40 offset is starting to get a bit low (depending on rim size). And, the change in offset of +55 to 40 is almost 3/4" of inch – and have a negative impact on bearing wear and torque steer…

Awesome thanks for the info! Since the CT springs only offer a 1-1.25 inch drop i dont really see a problem. My biggest worries are rubbing and also having the sticking out.
