Grounding Kit
Anyone designed, installed, or heard of a grounding kit. If so has it produced viable results. My friend who has a 350Z put one on his and he got 2-3 more HP and a few more lbs torque. Any ideas?

I"ll buy the full kit and install it at a dyno location if ya'll chip in for the dyno. I think that's a win-win situation for everyone. If there's no gain then you wouldn't waste your $ on the set of wires. They can be expensive, like $300 if i remember correctly.

or if someone else is dead set on getting those wires i got $10 bucks for your dyno once i see you did by the wires. get 10 more people and your dyno is free. seems fare to me.

u guys can just go to some supermarket and read import tuners. they put Hypergrounding kit in every project car they have and dynoed..
I m not sure if it will give any HP to CLs......and it costs around $100 not $300
i remember those kit give RX7 almost 10HP when they did the dyno and in this month issue it only gave the prelude 0.2 HP, so i think it varies from car to car and it should smooth the idle and start ur car easier according to what they wrote.

Grounding Kit!
Hello everyone!
I am just a lurker here but I am an active poster on the 350Z and G35 forums.
If you search for my handle you will find that I have several posts regarding the benefits of effective engine grounding.
I had been contacted by one of your members to produce a grounding kit for the CL. So, I thought I’d register and share what I know.
Automotive electrical and computer systems are designed to tolerate up to 100% noise on their input lines. Meaning, if the ECU is expecting a 12-volt input signal, the signal may vary in the range of 0 to 12 volts. Fluctuations in signal are due to noise in the system. Noise is generated by spark plugs firing, discharges through the tires to the road, alternator turning on/off, etc. In other words, there is a lot of inherent noise an automotive electrical system.
One of the best-proven ways to compensate for noise is with proper grounding.
When measuring a DC (direct current) signal, almost any kind of wire will due. However, when measuring a high frequency input (i.e. the mass air flow sensor or the air/fuel mixture sensor) it is necessary to run a ground wire in parallel with your signal. The engine grounding/earthing kit provides grounding along side each signal wire.
The Engine Grounding / Earthing Kit allows for cleaner data transfer to the ECU. The result is more accurate measurements by the ECU and therefore more accurate performance, smoother idle and acceleration.

Almost forgot...
This is a very generic diagram.
However, it will give you a general idea of the connection points.
The Intake should also be considered when grounding.

Hyper Ground System
Hey kHmER Co,
That is the Hyperground System over at a-tl.com.
The only purpose to my post is to help educate. As a DIY'er, this is a fun modification to make and install.
The Hyper Ground System runs for about $120 ($115 plus shipping).
I have been doing these kit for the 350Z and G35 for about half that price! AND my kits are hand made, tailored to fit - not just a generic one size fits all kind of thing.
Anyway, as I collect more info on the CL I will share it.

Just thought of something, the fact that I removed that little integra battery and installed two redtop optimas in the trunk might make this kit non applicable for me. With batteries in the trunk, would it still be possible to establish all the grounds? Thanks

guys I am the one who told Insanamine to make a kit for us cLers and let me tell you he makes some killer grounding kit for the 350Z in all different colors and makes them to exact measurements. I am willing to make all measurements for the 6 speeder but we might need some for the auto I dont know if they need the same grounding though
Insanemine sells them very cheap also considering the competition

So whats the story with this grounding kit that InSaNeAmine was supposed to make. Is it out yet? I'm not talking about the Hyperground Kit, the other cheaper custom kit.

Really, I am very skeptical that this would gain 0.1 HP on ANY Car. Dyno variations alone can be anywhere between 2-10 WHP. so save your money.
Most engine signal are DIGITAL! and not analog at all, so there is nothing to gain with grounding.
Nosie does not effect normal operation. if you want to make sure use and digital Voltmeter/Altmeter/Ohmmeter and see for your self? even you can use an osccilloscope, I am sure you will see no didfference.
For those who are Pro Grounding kit, could you provide a before and after Electrical Techinical Analysis?
Thank you.

nashua,
im not doubting you're right, because im debating whether to get one or not too, but import tuner installs one on all their cars in the "tech pages", where they dyno every car. they dyno the cars before and after the grounding install, and there definitely is an increase. i don't know how to explain it, maybe it does work, maybe not.

I've heard of arguments both supporting and criticizing the wires. But if done right they look good in the engine bay. Nice accents.
