Griots Garage
Anyone used their stuff before? I just moved into a condo with a hose so I can finally clean my car myself instead of taking it to the carwash (been in apartments for 3 years). I need some of the basic stuff, clay bar, good wax, and that speed shine stuff looks good.
Should I buy this stuff from Griots?

seriously? lets do it then. you ready to order today?
what are you looking at? I need a whole bunch of stuff so I was thinking this starter car care kit
plus maybe some cotton towels and a sponge or two.
and as for the zaino...is it worth the time and money? my cars white, and I have yet to see a white car zainoed...you think its worth it?
either way I want the stuff from griots, maybe just minus the wax if I get some zaino.

I've ordered a ton of stuff from them.
That 100$ hose nozzle they have is ABSOLUTELY :tits: I actually have two, one for me and one at my parents house. I took one of them apart and had it polished, i'll get a pic one of these days.
Also that horse hair brush is a must have a long w/ their wheel scrubber!

some independent guys did a wax test on like 40 different waxes and Zaino waxed the competition. You can order the mag at www.gurureports.com

honestly, i bet griots shit is almost as good, and it doesn't take the many coats zaino does. Plus your car is white, i'd just go w/ whatever is around.

Griot's products are good products. I used them and they work great!
I've used Zaino too. Zaino is great too, but the application SUCKS!
I prefer Griot's.

dammit. can't decide. how much work is it really to do a good job with the zaino? is it really like a whole days worth?
if there is a HUGE difference between zaino and some good caranuba, I could deal with a day of application. but if its just a slight difference, I would rather save my time and money and just order the 'best in show' wax from Griots....
I think Griots is going to win this one...I don't feel like blowing a whole weekend applying Zaino. Maybe I could hire some high school kid to do it though...or an illegal immigrant.

I meant, I was gonna order some Zaino soon...sorry for the confusion. I've heard a lot of good stuff from Griot's though...don't think you can go wrong. I admit, when I Zaino my car, I do 3 coats in one morning (w/ ZFX) and then I detail out the rest of my car for an hour or so (with a wash, clay, wash, 3 coats applied and taken off, and a Z6 detail spray), I'm at about 5-6 hours (I start at 6am and finish by lunch time).
Zaino is great and feels nice after your done. However, it does pick up dust like crazy (maybe I'm doing something wrong)...but I'm going on faith from the reports that Zaino lasts. It's been at least a few months since my 15th coat went on.

Not to blow any bubbles or anything..but Griot's Garage mainly sells rebadged products. (ie. that $100 hose nozzle is about $30 elsewhere). Mr. Griot has basically done all the research to find the best stuff and rebadged it with his name and the color RED!

I miss my 03 CL-S :(
I've ordered a few things from them, but like AgentDSS said, many things you can get from elsewhere cheaper.
Their duster is 10x better than any other duster I've used (Cali duster sucks!). Their paint clay is just like any other, and using it with the Speed Shine does a good job. The Best of Show wax is good, but nothing jaw-dropping like Zaino.
Without question, the best thing I've gotten from them is the rubber-lined wash mitt. Also, Leather Care and the Leather Scent air freshner spray People come into my car and think it's new all the time

I used the Gariots clay and speed shine and then the zaino. I find that Gariot's clay is better than zainos. Gariots micro towels are great too. In short i used a combo of both products to achieved imo, the best results.
