GReddy Oil Catch Can

It was my birthday a couple weeks ago. My friends bought me a polished GReddy oil cap. Unfortunately, it didn't fit...too big. So, I went in to my local speed shop to exchange for one that did. No luck, but the owner suggested I get one of these:



Just had to pay $40 CAD extra. It sure does look pretty, but what does it do?
