Alrighty...talked to Ins lady again (she called) they talked to the adjuster again so now he wants to see acura preform the "procedure" to show the ins agjuster where the head is cracked. They put in a call to the guy at acura but he was out to lunch.

I dont know if there is a simple test they do to show the crack but I am pretty confident that acura had done everything they needed to come up with the cracked head answer. I remember the acura guy telling me they talked to acura tec a bunch and tested things and drive it around. So I am feeling better about this now as long as acura was right and has a nice way to show the ins adjuster this. Why didnt the adjuster ask them to do this last week when he was there is beyond me!!!

Talked to acura guy again to ask wht "test" did yall do to determin a cracked head. He said you cant "test" to so its more a process of elemination. Problem...missfire in cyl 1,3,5 so to test they started with the cat to see if it was cloged...it wasnt; if the plugs and coil packs are bad that can cause it....those have already been changed; next possiblity blown head gasket...since the car is NOT running hot and really runs good there is no way the headgasket is blown; next and FINAL possibility (acording to acura tec line as well) is the head it self might have a hairline crack in it and the only way to truely tell is to pull the head off. That could be 15hrs of acura work they would have to pay. So acura is calling ins lady to talk to them and we will see whats next.

I think I got there testing right..might have left out something but its not my problem...now I sit and wait....this is truley amazing

Just wondering why you cant believe your typing that?

Its sad too because other than this head problem the car is back to excelent shape. BUT I cant take a car that I know I need to sell and that has a CH light that WILL come on during a test drive. And you can forget ME shelling out the thousands to fix it after the fact. Fact is the car should get totaled...anyway you slice it and I TRIED to tell the ins co this in the beginning but noooo, no one thought I knew wtf I was talking about.

The thing that still pzzles me is my ins co (the one involved now) is not going to loose any money on this. The "at fault" ins co is going to have to pay mine back...right?? One would think my ins co would all over the chance that its totaled now and they can wash there hands of it.....there must be something going on between the two ins co I dont know about.....

Heh its never ending!

Inc co wants the heads to come off and looked at. It will take 1000 bucks for acura to pull the head. The ins co says its going to be up to them the ins co to determin at that time if its wreck related...if THEY feel its not then I have to pay acura the 1k and whatever else it takes to fix it. Acura is 100% on my side at this time in feeling its wreck related not the mods or past problems. I know for a fact this was not going on before the wreck....the engine was hit on the oil pan directly and it shattered. I think they are just trying to scare me into just swallowing this bill maybe...I worry that they will (even if they dont believe themselvs) will still say not wreck related. I tho am not afraid at all to go to court on this because in my mind I cant see how anyone else other than the ins co will feel this way.

Any input would be great! I am going to try to talk to someone about the correct legal paths to take at this point.

Im ready to fuken play hardball!

I just call comptech and talk to a tech person. I jsut wanted to hear from the makers of the mod that the ins co is absoluy wrong and foolish in saying the aem CAI and the CT headers cracked the head. He said exactly that...there is no way...he said actualy those mods help the engine have less heat and stress pretty much...a-la improved MPG.

Actualy the ins co is just now really being dicks....before it was hung up at that fuked up body shop with katrina in the mix! Its because now the ins co has big $ into it and the car is really pretty good....it just keeps throwing the missfire code with ease! That problem is enough $ to total it...if its the head like acura says its got to be. Thats why the ins co wants to see the head, but the problem is its up to THEM if its wreck related....thats the kicker!

So how much money has the insurance invested in the CL to date if you include this head work?

To date the #'s fall like this. Car was worth 20,800 and some change. Totled is 75% so that 15,600 and some change. They have paid body shop 11,500 or more and some change. Acura says if the head is cracked the total for the job could be around 5-7k parts and labor....dont know if thats one head or 2 but acura says if one got cracked the potential of the other being not at 100% is good.

So that is enough to total the car with ease. So it would seem my ins co would just get the $ back from the at fault ins co....thats what I dont get. I bet the at fault ins co is putting up a fight behind close doors.

Wow, between $17,5 & $23,5 (with the heads being $6k). That's insane. I bet someone's gonna have their ass in the ringer when they get audited.

No right now its at 11.5k and with the heads it would be up to 18.5k and that would be over the total amount of 15.5k.

I was thinking the car it as $11.5K now + approx $6k for each head. That's how I was coming up with those #'s. Either way, I'd be getting really sick of this.

It dont get any better than this

Ok which one of you mofo's went to acura and used a pry bar to jack my driver headlight....try and fail to get the passengerside one....pop the hood....RIP out my aem cai and grab the bulbs out of the headlight you couldnt get???

Yes you read that right....my car got robbed while sitting at acura waiting to see whats causing the check engin light to come on.

Yes you read that right too...its still at acura with the problem. Acura tec wanted them to save all the readings of sensors when the light comes on. So now acura tec thinks it could be a pinched wire somewhere perhaps. Acura was going to start today checking them but now this shit. I called my ins co to see if it gets added to the wreck claim since it was at acura for that reason....but its not. So I think acuras ins co has to deal with it.

Now I need to get a reciept for my intake...looks like I have to make a call to aem and see if they can help. They gave me that intake for helping them with the fitment difference between the auto and 6spd.

Fuken drama man....if who ever jacked my stuff reads this forum...you should have taken the whole fuken car and burned it when you were done...they had more performance parts and audio stuff in it

Sux - had mine ripped out about 8 months ago...they broke one of the housings and left the bulb from the other. What a waste...

I've also heard of ALOT of theft at Acura dealerships. I know up at my dealer in West Chester, PA they have had rims stolen (had that happen on my GSR!), headlights, etc. Maybe they need to make Acura parts that don't fit into stinkin' Hondas.

Yes this has been the most amazing PITA ever of any of the 8 cars I have owned. I have already moved on too but the damn thing wont stop lol. Maybe its the acura gods punishing me for buying a ford hahahahaha.

I would like to get a reciept for an aem just to be on the safe side. Acura is just going to give me the $ for it since they know my situation with the car and I have my stocker they can put back on for me. Thanks tho for offering!!!

I can tell you this....it will be a cold day in hell before I let acura send my car to the same bodyshop to fix the new damage

I found my originl reciept and gave it to acura...so they re going to give me 250 bucks since i had my stocker to give back to them.

I cant believe it has been this long either...but I smell victory and im going for it!

I think I should be able to get a high 11 low 12 in the 1/4. I went before and was at 13.2 with no traction. If I had some better tires I think I could have nipped a high 12!

Here is another update....still no car. Its at acura...through lots of testing acura tec line says it needs a new engine! Of cource the ins co says we want acura to pull the engone and show us why. Then if the ins co says its not wreck related i get stuck with that bill. I made a few calls and got them to sing another tune....so acura had the green light to start taking the motor appart. First thing was drop the oilpan. There is metal shavings in the oil (only 500 miles on that oil) and there are small metal chuncks stuck in several parts of the crank and rods and other parts under there. There is to much play in the crank and rods as well. Something is definetly busted in the botom end...but what. The ins co is going out to acura today to see whats the next step....replacing bearings and stuff or finaly totaling it.

Quick Reply: Got in a wreck...my poor CL...it may be gone
