People as picky as we are will never be happy the first time your car leaves the body shop. It's always something.

Yeah its MUCH better to drive than a 4x4 truck BUT some things are not to picky. Like for instance....I thenk they have a STOCK SPRING on the rear passengerside. I say this because of several reasons. When you take your fingers and see how much wheelwell gap you have...one one side its barely 2 fingers....the other os over 3 fingers!

The second reason is on the higher side it has the original worn down tires and the driverside has brand new ones...so in my mind I was expecting it to pull to the right. This car pulls to the left...and bad...I think because the back right part of the car is higher than the rest.

Then there is paint fit n finish issues...my floor matts are MIA just stuf like that. I will post my final list...

I need to get the darn thing back too...I need to sell it because my GT is going to hopefuly be built week of dec 5th.

I had a radius rod put in backwards after some suspension damage and my car pulled to the left. I would have this checked out just in case. It took the dealer to find the problem, and by that time my upper control arm was dead.

So I have a long list...and the iceing on the cake is a internal tapping sound...it sounds like something is bent! It goes faster with the revs and to add to that my checkengin light is on! Man...I am so pissed about all this right now. Looking at the total so far (12,500) and knowing what he still has to add to that (at least 1,500). The fact that this light is on now and the sound thats going on now, and everything else thats wrong, I bet it would push over its 75% mark (15,500) I bet. I am going to talk to my ins co again monday and see what this will do.

Anyone know if that could happen....that they would total it now? They said in the beginning they would put a new oil pan on and fill it with oil and see if it runs. If it did run then it probably would not get totaled...if it didnt run then it might have enough to get totaled. Now the car is mostly fixed but still has a lot of little things and a few major things...would they total it now?

If they would have only listened to me in the first place!

I took a measurment too...the rear driver side from ground to finder edge is a solid 1/2" LOWER than the passenger side. The P side Also has the most worn tire out of the 4. That one is just about bald (old front tire) and the driver side one is brand new. So that alone will also add to the difference in sides.

Driver door....does not line up well...hits the lock when you close the door and the top ende is bent out so you hear wind noise. You can see it very easy.

Roof still has slight dents in it...

one washer nozle works

bunch of stuff....at the very least that ass will have it for longer getting it perfect...but I hope I can sway the ins co. I am going directly to my agent....

Well I just dropped off the car to the bodyshop again. The knocking is pretty bad and the check engine light is still on. So off to acura to have them look at the engine and determin whats up. There is a very good shot this will tip it over the 75 % mark now and amy still get totaled. I am crossing my fingers.....

Heh...now acura says its detonation and I need spark plugs and coil packs....and now the ins co is saysing they are not going to pay for that. I am so angry right now!!! The car was perfect before the wreck I dont drive it for 5 months and within 10 miles the spark plugs and coil packs go out....I dont think so.

Does a car have to warm up to opperating temp in order to knock??

Something is wrong here. Generally a car wont ping unless it is warm but all the plugs AND coil packs going bad? Someone either drove the hell out of it or some other damage was done. I wonder if in the storm the hood was left open or water somehow made it into these parts. sounds very fishy though.

unbfortunatly i highly doubt they will total it now, since they paid the shop X amount of dollars already and would have to give you the same amount + more to total the car out. looks like you're screwed

Did you fill the tank with fresh gas? After 5 months couldn't the gas have gone bad and caused this problem? I have no clue, but just tossing the idea out there.

Yeah so far the total is 12,400 and 15,600 is 75%....they want 828 bucks to fix all the packs and plugs and my ins co that is covering this as of now is saying since it is a wareable item its not from the hit....(they just go out)....since thats what the acura shops feeling. This is total BS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Really all 6 needing to be fixed is crap...I callled the ins co and bitched...they then called and gave me some other #'s to call....more to come!

If they would have just left it on the ground during the storm

I have thought about it but would never have enough sack to do it....dont want to go to the slammer ya know

I am just going to try to sell it with all the mods on it. My mustang is being built sometime this week and the arrival date was pushed back to theweek of the 31 this month so I have a little time to sell two cars. Problem is there are some things the body shop has to correct first and he doesnt really have a lot of workers at this point in time. This has been a long 5 months....

Gotta love that black color, so shiny!

Still need repairs to the house eh, you might want to remove that fallen gutter. Don't want the wind to blow it onto your new ride.

Did you need a temp FEMA trailer like so many of my neighbors in Harvey? I tell you, my street looks like a trailer park now.

Damn shawn...now that is one hell of a blue blinger So what do you have done to it so far?

I know its crazy...I have been in a few wrecks but this one takes the cake. Yes the guy got 8' of water....but that was a long time ago now. I called my ins co and told them its still not back to me yet. They were as dumbfounded as I so they are going to help me push this guy.

Yes my gutter is still laying there and its not going anywhere trust me. If I thought it could make it to my car I would have cut it off by now. Honestly I don't feel like it...someone will get paid to do it and haul it away. Problem is getting some one over there to freaking fix it. My area wasn't to bad with trailers thankfully...but there are plenty areas that are around.

I was never a ford guy...matter of fact I was never a American made car guy (except the vets and the old muscle cars :P ) I have had a Subaru,civic,integra,prelude,3.0cl, 3.2 cl-s auto and a 3.2cl-s 6spd....this is a first for me but I have to say I love this car way more than any other ones I have had. The sound....ohhh the sound is awesome as well as the power. Besides the aftermarket is all over this car....there is sweet twin turbo setup I have my sites on. Once I get my acura back and sell it I may be able to swing it

My wife didn't believe me until she was in the car with me and someone was looking....she thought it was for here...I said ohh no baby its the car trust me. The next red light the guy pulls on side of her and roles down his window and says....damn thats a nice car Puahahahaha

Just think if that damn acura was on the ground for teh flood I could have some more toys for this damn thing! I think I am going to be sick....

Haven’t gone too wild with mods.
Just did what I had planned before I even bought the car.

Window tint
Chrome plated OEM factory Wheels
Corsa sport exhaust system - V8 Rumble
And a hardwired V1 of course

Ahhhh yes indeed shawn...very sweet!!! I have never had the V8 rumble of my own before and I must say its adicting. Since I took the cats off my car its friggin loooouuuudddddd and I love it. I have always loved the vetts and the new ones are even better, I just couldnt have a car note at this time so 24k (got teh hookup) for the GT, I couldnt pass up.

A co worker has a vert auto in his stable (wifes car) that I want to race. I know he is going to take me...im just wondering by how much. What are they running in the 1/4 you know? I bet I could rip a high 12 with traction.....

I believe a Coupe w/ Z51 gearing and manual tranny will do 12.5 in the quarter.
The vert is a bit heavier and the auto slows it down a tick so I would guess high 12’s or low 13’s if all stock w/ Z51 package.
If it's a 2005 it's a 4-Speed auto.
2006 went to 6-Speed auto and better gearing so they're much closer to a manual now.

************

Quarter mile times and speeds quoted by GM.
Z06, 6-spd manual, 11.7 sec @ 125 mph
6-spd manual w Z51 12.5 sec @ 115 mph
6-spd manual w/o Z51 12.6 sec @ 115 mph
4-spd auto tranny w Z51 12.9 sec @ 110 mph
4-spd auto tranny w/o Z51 13.0 sec @ 110 mph

Its c6 auto vert and im not sure if it has the z51 or not. In any case he better not sleep at the line or I will hand it to him. Boy that would feel good, I would so rub it in his face.

So the c6 come out in 05...and they went from a 4spd auto to a 6spd auto on the same body in a year. Boy I would be ticked! I think his is an 05 muahahahaha

The GT looks sharp. I like them a lot except the interior. How is it looking at that all the time. I don't know if I could deal with it. Do you really care?
I miss the V8 rumble soooo much.

Actualy I dont mind the interior. Its plain but nice and it has a great layout for my audio ideas. The doors have room for a nice 3 way speaker set including a 8" midbass and the headunit is a double din so I can fit the new pioneer z1 nav unit Also with the upgrade package I got it has a thing called my color where I can change the color of the guages to 125 different colors. All in all I really like the car more than my cl...and I really loved that car! Just about any feature the cl had I can get on the GT + I have the sound RWD and teh powah to go with it.

Not only that, they also went to paddle shifters on the wheel.
Not a true SMG system, but still fun to play with if you insist on getting a slushbox tranny.

There were a lot of changes from 2005 to 2006. I’m glad I waited the extra year.
On the 05 manuals, when you park the car you MUST put it in reverse.
If not, you will have a dead battery in the morning.
And people who swear they parked it in reverse randomly end up with dead batteries anyway.
Not a problem with the 2006. You can put it in any gear you want when you park.

That is crazy...I learned about getting the first model year of a car...a-la 01 cl-s with 3 dead trannys. Ahhh those were the days lol
