Got my 6 Speed!
Got my 6 Speed!
Picked her up tuesday night. Traded in my RSX 5speed(manual). I liked the RSX, but the ride is awful and the rattles and noises were really getting to me. The CL is a much different beast all together. Great power and tranny. The ride is buttery smooth compared to the RSX. I wanted to get the tafetta white, but they could only locate one with an auto and I am not ready for that yet. So I decided on the Aegean(spelling?) blue.(with 35% tint) I think that everyone here should be greatful for having a CL. It is a wonderful car. I wanted to get a 350Z, but insurance would be higher and I am 6"4 and it was very cramped inside. I also thought the visibilty was awful and the ride was firm like the RSX. Overall I am very happy with the CL so far.

Thanks everyone! I just need to decide if I want to take of the splash guards and if I need a spoiler. I think it looks classy without it, but may add some sport to the car if I add it. Any feedback would be great.
Yeah, post some pics... the blue looks schweeet on the CL.
My dealer has a silver w/black int and a black w/parchment int waiting for me... decisions, decisions.
Personally, I like the spoilers on the CLs I've seen; but then again, I always prefer spoilers on sports cars. Without them, they look "classier" but "slower."
If the dealer is trying to charge too much to install one, just hold off for now, can always slap it on later.

Anyway, the OEM spoiler looks nice on our CL-S's. There are a few that don't like it, but it is ultimately up to your personal taste. If you don't want to pay the $700 spoiler fee from Acura you can always look to aftermarket options. I bought mine for about $200 and installed it myself (w/ Smitty's help).
There is also a SEMA style spoiler in production right now. I don't know what the status is w/ the build, but here's the thread and pics:
I've not seen any numbers about the number sold or produced. The VINs are not separated from the autos, so we cannot tell by the VIN either.
Acura has also never re-verified the number. It was stated with the initial six speeder press releases. I wonder if this was a truthful statement.
I estimated that we have about 1.5% of the 6 speeders posting here if the 2700 is true.

Congrats!
Got mine 10 days ago. Traded in my 2001 CLS for it. Mostly like it better than my old CLS. But noticed that shifting isn't as smooth as I would expect it should be. This is due mostly to the California smog control where the revs don't drop off right away when shifting. Gear changes can be a bit notchy if you don't get it right.

I wanted the blue too, but I got a satin silver, and all I can say is people tell me it looks classy. I didn't want silver, because silver/gray tends to blend in with our salt covered roads, making you a defensive driver.
You will love the car.
This is my seventh acura since 1992, and never once, did one person say to me "Hey, cool spoiler!" So I saved myself about $800, and yes, when you get a car of this caliber, you do NOT need a spoiler to make an impression. Congratulations, enjoy, and trade often, every year or two. Considering the Acura maintenence schedule, it is cheaper than you think. Let thje other guy, who buys your used vehicle pay for the major services. When the car is out of warranty, he has no choice. ALWAYS trade you Acura while it is still in warranty, even if it is only 1,000 miles left on it. It matters!

Ditto... until April at least.
Congrats on the car!
