at first only mods can do it(rate a member)...they give a star for good ...insightfull, contributing posts...than after you obtain so many stars, probablly all five, than you too can vote... and you could also have it where 5 star members rate certain topics, with stars ,thus saying people that are respected around here say this post or that post is worth reading. what do you guys think ???soopa?astro?gold ??not to leave any other names out but opinions please??...i give this idea 1 star

Probably sounds like a good idea to me too, except I really didn't pay that much attention to the topic stars in the last format.

 

well thats sorta my point. who where the stars coming from...in some cases no idea? ...but if astro said hey this topic is 3 star, you might jump right to it and skip over ,body kit??? ...but, more importantly, some of the new guys might be more likely to be constructive, rather than flame...if they have any desire to ever be able to vote them selves? and that still might be the fatal flaw of this idea...will anyone care?...i guess my point with star rating here is it puts you one step closer to moderator and maybe five star is what you'd have to be if you ever wanted to get called up to the big show

i think using the stars to determine what is important to read (or the importance of who wrote it) is like believing what you see on tv or read in the papers or magazine-it's crap. use your own judgement. one of the nice things about being around here for awhile is you get to know who is who-who's full of shit, who's having a bad day, and who know's WTF they are talking about..."of course that's just MY opinion, i could be wrong"
