why stop there? Go for one of the turbo upgrades
./...they are very worth it. Enjoy the car men. These enignes are great. I have an Audi A4 with a GT25 turbo...I love it. Thanks god I bought my car when I did before they switched to cast pistons
As for the Jetta=gay thing, I have actually heard that VW was aiming their marketing at the gay communinty. BUt I wouldn't go as far as to equate VW and gay.

You guys are cracking me up with this gay shit, hahaha. it will be really funny when a 1.8T can do 12 sec at 110mph. dont believe me go to the link in the bottom and click on the videos. there is an option called STage 3 for $3999, i rather get that and have a serious light weight super car. I had a 1.8T GIAC chipped with an intake and upgraded BOV + konis/newspeed springs. I used to run away from from BMW M-coupes and E36 M3's on a regular basis. 1.8T is probably one of the best engines out there but all that turbo spool up and hissing of the BOV gets to be a pain in the ass. Fast but not on the level of the Type-S.
A co-worker of mine had a Jetta the same time I had mine - his was stock and he was openly gay and there was absolutely nothing wrong with that dude he was a great guy, hard worker & friend of mine. His lifestyle was his business not mine to judge.
The reason this tread is so damn long is that sometimes ignorant people like to make judge and make comments about other people and then try to say "chill out" or "get over it" or justify their display of ignorance which is an impossible thing to do. Ig'rant is i'grant.

There was this discussion about switching pistons but there is no evidence they actually did. So far the Newer 1.8ts are just as strong.
I have only the info posted on Audiworld about whether or not the newer 1.8T have cast or forged pistons. Since APR and PES (and others) are making big turbo kits for the newer 1.8T's, then I would assume they are strong enough to withstand that kind of stress. Hopefully Audi VW will go the 2.9T route pretty soon and lower the compression to a more boost friendly 8.5:1. I have a few friends with 2.0 conversions...very nice. I know some who have added cams and stroked their car (with APR stage 3)to 2.0 liters and got 50-60 more hp with the standard APR stage 3 software.
