I have an '01 Jetta Wolfsburg with the 1.8T. Chipped it a year or so ago (Upsolute) and it is damn fast - nearly as quick as our CL-S 6-speed. It's seriously addicting.

Great color, by the way. I wish the Wolfie had been available in that color in '01!

Congrats! the car looks great! I wouls say go with the GIAC. They also just recently came out with a new version on the X chip. I think its vs. 11 I have one and its awsome. If you think it quick now, you won't belive the difference ....

 

Chipping a Jetta 1.8 T will not make your car get into the 5 second mark. Not even close. I have a VR 98 with Cams, exhaust, intake, intake manifold Schrick and with Autohority chip and my car dynos at 189 whp and 0-60 is down in the 6.4-6.6 range. It will be a fast car but dont dream that it will beat a CLS auto or manual. The car stock runs 1/4 mile in the low 15's and 0-60 in low 7's. The GTi vesion will have better time than the Jetta.

 

yeah, jettas are nice, girly cars.. but they're not roomy enough for me.. i'd much rather get a passat or spend a couple extra bucks and get the a4.. those purple gauges are way too feminine for me..

 

jettas are rated the #1 car for fags to drive. i'm just letting you know... my friend has one its an auto and it sa pretty peppy lil car. i like the gauges alot.

Anyway, one thing I really like about the VWs is the key - it's all ONE PIECE, so the clicker doesn't bang against the steering column when you are cornering like mine does constantly... that is one feature I'm surprised Acura didn't implement a long time ago.

 

I understand what you are saying but the slur and the remarks he used about gay people has a history of hate and violence, just the same as the slur used for blacks, it wouldn't be allowed. and the fact that the car is tainted because he says gay people drive it, come on, sounds so familiar.

I love the Car, I drive the CTS and CLs is Wives and Jetta is our long trip car. i have to admit the turbo is awwwwesome shit kicks on at 1900rpm. gives you a whip lash. cant wait to break into it. i only have 200miles on it soo far, The Car is really hot, styling ergonomics and Blue guages are crazy. I really wanna chip it, probably leaning towards Giac(garret makes the best chips) and it comes with remote control to switch between stock, chipped and race. I cant complain for 20grand i got 17s, those switched blade keys, and turbo come on cant go wrong. I love the foot pedals from the Audi TT (its in my Sig)
