Got the cl today finally!

After paying for the car 1,100 miles away, 10 days ago mind you, it arrived today. what a sigh of relief, it's exactly as dealer described with a few minor inconsistencies..

1) It's a 2003 cl type S 6 speed with low jack, howev there are all sorts of cables disconnected from left side of the trunk. Big red positive cable, ground cable, audio video cable, phone cable, and some simple 22 gauge wire...has my lowjack been stolen? Laughing at the irony here..
2) Also, someone swapped the shift knob as its not very but something very basic..

Other then that it runs perfect, no leaks or smoke.. Some scratches on front and rear bumper but nothing too crazy..

3)Are stock hid lights supposed to be blue?

Thanks!!,

Maybe the owner disconnected a sub box? Yes the lights have a slight blue, but they could have been replaced with bulbs that are more blue.

I don't know about a sub box that has a phone cord, my money is on that low jack device. Looks like someone took it out. If anyone has a lowjack in their acrua, can you please let me know where yours is mounted?

I will try to get some pictures once I clean her up, it's kind of dirty right now

Oh, next to the cruise control switch I have a knob that was installed. It's almost like the volume knob for the speakers, but I don't see it doing anything when turned. Anyone have any ideas?

There still could have been a sub. the phone jack could have been a remote to the sub to control volume and the knob next to your cruise control switch may be the knob. my infinity sub uses a wired sub remote that connect by a phone jack type of plug. stay optimistic about the lojack.

hey thank you! Whoever did it used factory carpet to cover up the whole and a piece of a sturdy wood.
You're 100% correct, it was the infinity basslink subwoofer. Don't know if I should leave the wiring, just in case I find one cheap on ebay..hmm

Bass could use a little kick

Haha crazy guess. I like mine. It's enough bass for me and I like it because the unit is small so I can still my trunk.

The car is black/black. I will post some pictures, it's been really nasty out past few days so I had no chance to clean it at all.

I got this navigation kit, so i'm going to add it when I get a chance. Make the car more unique, or rare, so to speak.

IF you are not going to use the wires, cap them off or remove them. You do NOT want +12 to hit the chassis....

Car fax lol don't mean shit..... I got my car with a clean title... After a year of tinkering with my car pulling things apart u can see some things came from a wreckers as they have marking on them which don't look from the factory.

I use to think clean title mean home free..... It just mean the last owner was careful when he fucked up his car lol

Then you are naive cause perfection does not exist.

And if u think it does its only cause u perceive it that way. Until u find out more and realize oh it's not perfect.

But good for you if ur car is immaculate. I hope u don't find out later what I did. Mind you I don't care, cars can always be fixed.. All a question of if ur willing to fix it.

I got the navigation system coming this week as well as the back emblems. Still on the fence if I should even add the 3.2Cl type S, I kind of like the clean uncluttered look of the trunk.

Honestly to keep the factory look, plus resale value. I don't need nav too horribly much, but it would be nice to have it.

Found a perfectly paint match spoiler from 99 cl at the junkyard for $20! No scratches on it, back end really needs some help lol.

i think it does, as I found a thread about it here. If it doesn't I'll just sell it as it's in really good shape. I wasn't even looking for a spoiler, found it by accident.

You may want to pass on the nav.....it's very outdated & no more updates. It will not increase resale either. It is 10 years old.(car & nav) If you want nav go aftermarket.

I understand. For what it was made back in 03 it was probably a good selling point. I don't need to rely on it to get me anywhere, I just think it's a nice feature to have as it makes the interior a little nicer. It may not sell for more, dollar for dollar, but it should sell quicker. lol

It's just a personal quirk I have with factory options

Yea, don't waste you cash on the oem navigation!

Get a nice Pioneer or JVC double din with new features such as Bluetooth that you will actually enjoy and use.

I recently bought a JVC with Mirror link, so it mimics my Samsung Galaxy SIII screen, for exact mirror images of my cell's google navigation, etc.

Don't get keyword like I did its a big piece of shit.. It shuts off randomly whenever it feels like it. And sometimes when u turn car off it stays on for half a minute! Yes I can get it warranties but I will have no deck for a month so f that.

I unfortunately have to live with it. Only reason why I got it is satellite radio which has been free for 2 years somehow so that's the other reason I will just put up wit this piec of crap.

But FYI do not buy kenwood anything. I have never seen a product so poorly made it is the one N only purchase I regret with my car.. I got the cheapest one that could do what I need and sure enough it's so cheap they didn't even make it right.

I looked online and this is a common occurrence so it has nothing to do with my wiring which I double checked. Super disappointed in the product.

you do realize for you to get nav in your car, you will need the entire nav harness from a nav equipped car, IMO it aint worth it.
