I had an audiovox years ago, never had a problem with it.

DEI:

The Viper series is a good choice.

Compustar. But get the fm and not SS. SS has interfernce problems. DEI is okay, but they have thier fair share (actually quite a bit) of problems. 0.02

How do these remote starters work. You press a button and the car starts up. I'm assuming it is on a timer. But what happens if I want to drive away before the timer is up. Do i need to turn the car off and then start again? Explain please...

Didn't mean to

Well I know its not if you park with it in gear...but I never do that...im always in N and the E brake up. Is that the only reason its not a good idea?

Its just an idea I had to get it because I was just around a friend that got it for his truck...its really cool...to get into a cooled off car

Ya know you would think they would have a sensor to tell if it was in gear or not. So if it is in gear and you try to start it the car will jump forward like normal?

For the record, I always park in gear even if I’m not on an incline.
I don’t trust the E-Brake to hold the car securely.

There are very few times I have to put it in gear when I park but thats because my e brake needs to get the slack out...but when it works properly there are very few times I even need to pull it. Its way flat here :P

Even with my car in neutral, it will not start until I depress the clutch. I believe it is a safety feature to prevent just what you guys are talking about.

Yes it is but when you get the remote start I guess it makes it start w/o hitting the clutch so you can start it from away from the car. But if you are in gear it could not be good

But my e-brake is primary, gear is my backup.

i have the viper 600 series alarm with remote start on my 01 cls you need to have a vallet key hidden by the ignition so that it can read the chip in it. and yes you can put it on a stick you just have to do a clutch override. my friend has it on his crx 5 speed.

lets say u auto start ur car and u forget that its on auto start and u try to driveaway. once u hit the brake the car shuts off.

if u have it on auto start u put the key in and i think u turn it 2 clicks. if u go to da 3rd ull hear a really bad grinding nosie. lol.
