Good References

For the last few months, I've been reading as many posts regarding modifciations, air filters, oils, and oil filters as I can on this site. But over 95 percent of these go WAY over my head. Also, the bulk of them seem to say only, "This Brand is Better Than That Brand." Is there a reference I may consult to understand the technical details better? I am trying to make the best decisions I can where maintenance and modifications are concerned.

I am looking for a hardcopy reference. As I indicated, scavenging for pieces of info isn't doing it for me.

Honestly... Nashua is right... the best thing to do is search and you should find some test results on the web. Once you find a test that seems to have the information you're looking for you should be able to print it.... other then that you can probably look through the Archives of Consumer Reports or the other magazines similar to that.....

Yeah, I searched around also. Lots of outdated and incomplete tests. I determined that you can install mobil 1 and amsoil filters with confidence. I wish there was more room in the engine compartment to install a remote filter. I did this on a volvo about 15 yrs ago and considered it a success. Allowed larger filter running about 20 degrees cooler with the easiest filter change I've ever seen. Larger filter and in and lines added about 1 quart capacity. You should search this site also. Let us know if you find some new info. Siezeya.
