That is some insane amounts of mileage. Check to see when the car was purchased, why there is so much mileage, is it on the original clutch, and if the timing belt etc has been changed.

That's a hell of a lot of miles. But $12.5K sounds like a good deal if the car is in good shape.

It is a lot of miles...but a good price...NADA Vaule for trade in is $14,725 and for average retail is $17,600.

Yes... that's a decent price... A member in RI boought a 03 6spd w/ 92K miles on it for around the same price (located it in NH).

https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...t=high+mileage

Lots of people commute insane distances in CA to goto work. The 6spd from NH was probably used by someone who commuted to the Boston area....

Well the reason I ask about the timing belt, is because the 105K mile service is the big service. It runs about $900-$1000, so that may be something to take into consideration when making your monetary offer on the car.

Definately check on the 105k service being done, it got a bit pricey for mine. I have 106k on my 03 and there are no problems with the clutch or anything mechnical at all. If I were to sell mine I'd probably go a little less, but it all depends on if it is what you're looking for and what you can afford.

All the CL and TL's are made in the US in Ohio. The RL is built in Japan, according to Edmunds.com the MDX is made in Canada. The TSX is also made in Japan, just checked.

Everyone claims "highway miles" when their car is almost at 100k. I paid 12,000 for my 01 with 45k on it. That's half the miles. 12,500 is way too much, imho. That car will be worth nowhere near 13k with 110-120 on the clock. That dealer is out of his mind. For 13k he's not doing the timing belt or service either?

Granted, my car is an auto, but is the 6 with TWICE the mileage worth over a grand more? No way in hell.

I'd pass if I were you. You can buy brand new cars for 10k, I don't care how nice the CL is, 100k miles isn't worth 13k, anywhere. Your loan-value ratio will be completely upside down within a year.

The 6 speed has little to no chance of having a 3-5k transmission dropping on it either, this is what makes it worth the little extra cost for a 6speed.

If this is a dealer, ask them the cost of the 105k service or the timing belt change and ask them to either do that before the purchase is made or try to work out something with the price.

To bad you don't live in the Maryland area, I just traded my Auto CLS for a Six speed Cls. They sold me the car for 13,000dollars for 60,000miles, it was selling for 21,000dollars, but they tried to screw my mom over and she threatened them that she would tell everybody not to buy a car from them and they knocked the price down so they would shut her up! Thats crazy, but I know they got two more Six speeds wit Navi, A silver one and black one, silver one got 29,000K and my new friend I made at the dealership said it was selling for 24,000, but that he would sell for 19,000 to a person I knew. The black one got 35k and its selling for 22,000 but he would sell it for betwee 17,800 and 18,000. Its a real acura dealer! They cool, and I only deal wit the Manager, cause hes the one that would hook yall up!

its a private party, i had emailed him looks like he is not budging on the price.. so we will see i kept my offer at 12,500 i think over that would not be a deal.... Also there is no navi in it which i was really looking for....

Get the car checked out by a mechanic before before buying it. Also, make sure the clutch isn't slipping. Inspect the car, the gaps between panels, and all the other stuff to verify it was never in a wreck. If everything checks out and you can work him down, buy it.

I posted about the cost of my timing belt change and it was 7hrs of labor plus the belts, which were about $100.00 for them.
