Hi.

Great news... I got my new autodimming mirror today.

Bad news.... in the process of taking the old one out, somehow or another the whole mirror (mount and all) came off the windshield.

If I go to the autoparts store and buy some of that rear view mirror adhesive, will it be strong enough to hold the mirror?

Did you have the work done at the dealership? If so, why not take it back?

If not, then yeah, the adhesive should hold. That's what they make it for.

 

I did it myself. I thought that I'd heard that the adhesive might not be strong enough...

 

Then you should find out what Acura uses, and buy some of that.

 

The local autoparts store had two flavors of rear view mirror adhesive. I bought the more expensive one and I followed the directions to the letter and mounted the little metal base onto the windshield, let it set for a bit and then installed the mirror. I'm pleased to report that the new mirror works like a charm! Hopefully it'll stay put.
