Going to take apart engine to clean EGR port and installing ThermoBlok Spacers

Im about to take apart my engine to clean out my EGR port (did some research and the ports get really clogged with gunk). My car has 168K miles and runs good (had a little problem the other day with a bad coil pack but thats fixed). After doing alot of searching to fix my other problem seen alot of pics of clogged ERG ports in cars with the same engin like ours. It look pretty easy to clean the EGR port and while I have the engine apart might as well install a intake manifold spacer, throttle body spacerand gaskets from outlaw engineering.

There is a DYNO of a type-s on there website and it shows maximum gain 8.6 whp and 9.2 ft-lbs of torque at the 4900 RPM point with an average gain of 5 across the power band..

Has anyone installed this?
I know i seen a few of u guys with PR2?? spacers?

Before I spend $100 I wanted to see if anyone has ordered and installed this on there CL-s?

Thanks!

Here is a pic of someoneelses EGR post look how clogged up it is and i belive that TL had less miles then I do.. I can't even imagine how dirty/clogged mine is!
The 1999 TL actully had a TSB on this cuz the port was too small and kept clogging so the later years i belive they made it bigger..

I think just cleaning the EGR will help, especially if you have that many miles on it

I figured that since im gonna take it apart might as well install the kit.
I think 5HP through the rpm's would help out. It is prob better for the engine cuz it is running at a lower temp. lower temp= happier engine..??

those thermoblock spacers always seemed like a "placebo" upgrade to me. Unless the car is hitting the track every week or you run the 1/4 mile often, I dont think in everyday driving you will really notice any difference with the spacers.

That what I would think, more air / better air flow = more power / better MPG?
If the engine runs cooler it deffinatly would help the engine last longer and work less which is a good thing. Im gonna order it 2night and clean my EGR port and install it when it and my Helms manual comes in the mail.
For $100 and no drawback I really dont think I can go wrong??

Any other thoughts on the subject would be great!!

here are the pics.

oil in the intake, to fix this u can either put a catch can or small breather like i put on

spacer

i also did the coolant bypass for the tb. was easy and u dont need to buy any hoses or parts.

i havent noticed anything. mine wasnt clogged enough for me to notice it.

if they spacers are dyno prove, that ok with me, and the manifold spacer keeps the heat down in the intake manifold.

My outlaw engineering spacers arived yesterday and my Helpms manual is suppose to be here tommorrow so I will prob concur this Wed or friday.
After this i am gonna add headers and my car is DONE.. No more $ is going into it.. Everybody is right when they say u start modding its hard to stop, I had my car 8 years B4 I did any modding..then....I NEEDED new shocks and it started... Instead of getting OEM shocks from the DLR for $80 each and installing the same springs i got B@G shocks springs..then progress RSB...then MOOG sway bar linkss..then option pulley...then CAI...then outlaw spacers... I think i'm missing something but oh well....Headers and im done...
Gotta wait till excelerate gets the DC's back in stock!
