For those of you who may have been wondering where allmotors turbo went, well, it went into my car. After numerous trips for misc. parts, a hurricane, work, clean up after hurricane, take the turbo off after initial install, remove the oil pan again, get said oilpan modified so pipes don't touch it, reinstall oil pan, reinstall turbo, take bumper off, install water injection, install the IC, install piping, tighten everything down, install bumper, get a serious vibration in the chassis, remove bumper, remove IC pipes, remove IC, reposition IC, install IC pipes, (IC pipes hit the strut tower ever so slightly causing vibration) you get the picture. Had it running about a week now.
Still have the cowling to install, but I'll get to that soon.
It runs well. the waterinjection does it's job, it put my AFR at 10.5-10.7, as before the injection was turned on the AFR was 11.5-11.7.
All I can say is WOW! The car runs like a scalded ape. All I can tell anyone who is wanting to mod this motor with a turbo, just do it!
I did some slight modifications to suite my needs, and spent a lot of time paying attention to details. It was a bit overwhelming at first but now that it's overrrrrrrrr, I can look back and say the install didn't seem as complicated as it was while I was in the middle of it.
This thursday it gets the secret PURPLE majic box that was joked about a while back and an adjustment to the emanage. Next is to dyno, but that may have to wait a couple weeks.
Here's some pics.
This is not the 3.5L, enjoy .

You are one lucky sob. Well lucky and i'm sure you shelled out some serious green. You have done a great job installing it cleanly. Does that manifold come with turbo set up or is that something you did on your own and i think i saw that you are running on the stock exhaust, is that correct? Congrats and enjoy bro exceptional work!

your IC is crooked-garbage!!
just playing, it looks great.
i saw allmotors thread a day late and whem i PM'ed him you had already staked claim to it-damn it!!
i figured it might be you since you had said you had gotten/wanted another cl-s to "race" only.
I'm on the fence as to whether i should modify the cl-s or move on, every week i have a different view on it, so its probably better it went to you.
keep us posted bro!

crap, i thought u had the built engine in there at first! so its basically how allmotor's car was setup than. and that was very fast. cant wait to see the built engine go in. is it close to completion?
btw, change those tires immediately! with the amount of power you have, i would highly recommend pilot sport ps2's or toyo t1s. both seem to have soft, very sticky compounds and suit straight line speed well.
are you running the 6 psi spring? traction in 2nd? you should definately work on getting traction with that beast because as i remember on allmotors car, its too easy to overwhelm the tires and if you are constantly spinning, thats not good for low speed pick-up!
looks good and congrats! ive been in allmotors car when he had the turbo but without water injection, and it felt much better in the midrange than a 400+ hp SCed NSX. so i imagine yours to be quite impressive. what do you project it will put down once tuned?
edit: took another look at pics and the install looks clean! very nice work, the effort seems to have paid off.

The guy that was parting out his cl a couple months ago never responded to any of my PM"s about the shell of the car. Just as well, he stripped off to many body parts for it to be of any use. I'm looking for a complete rolling chassis full drag setup car and have looked at 1 to this point. It was a mazda and it was perfect, a 7.70 car with rotor-motor, however the car was less motor which is fine. I just cant put a honda motor into a car other than honda product.

More pics later, and thanks for the comments.

That crooked IC pic was taken before I repositioned it. It does look like crap, but is straight now.

says "hello to my TLX".
good job Thin Jim. i will be looking forward to seeing some dyno's and track numbers put up. so which parts have you looked at dropping of in the weight reduction phase? we all know this tuna boat's got some extra baggage. adding a roll bar also adds so much weight. sweeeeet.

Nice job Tom, you got some balls running that power distribution block so close to your FPR.
but everything else looks professionally installed... nice job.
P.S. Dunno if anyone ever told you or if I am seeing things but that is a BIG to use pipe thread tape on fuel line fittings...

I was always curious how Ram had connected the two exhaust manifolds together. Is this pipe what he uses to connect the front to the back headers?
Also what is that sensor in the intake pipe for?

This is in the pipe that connects to the air inlet.

Oh, i don't see that unless you are talking about the one in the downpipe which I think may be the sensor for the wideband ...just a guess though

Now it makes sense. You're probably right, its probably just a sensor for the wideband.

power dist. block is ok. I guess, it should never give me a problem as it has a very thick peice of rubber insulating it from the chassis.
