Ok, So I went to my local acura dealer today to grab an oil filter, and while I was waiting I figured i'd go take a look at an RL since I haven't seen one up close. Anyway, I checked it out and thought it was a beautiful car. Of course it's not in my price range nor is it what i'm really after.

I have an 01 CLS, and the mileage is really getting up there (150,000kms, which is about 93,000miles). Because of our great auto trannies, I'm uncomfortable keeping it much longer and before my trip to the dealer i had ever intention of getting a new (used) car sometime this spring. What i was planning on was an S2000. 01, or 02 maybe, and get the hardtop. It doesn't snow where I live and i'm young (soon to be 21), so i figured well i only live once.

Anyway, when i'm looking at the RL, the salesmen suggests a TL, I tell him i'd only be interested in a 6 speed, and they dont have any, but he takes my number and says he'll give me a call when he gets one so i can come in and drive it. Hey, if i am getting an S2000, it couldn't hurt to cross shop it with a TL 6spd. So the TL is of course beautiful. I already knew that.

Anyway. later on I'm going to sushi with a friend of mine, and she doesn't think a White TL would be nice. hah. So I decide to go show her. While i'm at the dealer, this time i notice. A Blue 03CL sitting there. looks brand new. Could there still be a brand new CL somewhere? Go take a look inside and i'm still convinced it's brand new. However upon further inspection of the sticker, it's used with 26,000kms (16K miles) on it, absolutely mint. at this point my salesman spots me and comes out to chat. Tells me an older gentlemen had it before, and decided that stick wasn't right for him anymore. They want $29995 for the car in Canadian Dollars, this is a local victoria car, and for some reason cars cost more here.

Now i'm tempted to finance the difference between my car and this one. i'm going to test drive it tomorrow. Is this a rare find or is it just a normal run of the mill deal on a mint CL? What advice do any of you have for me on it, and getting the best deal? I can snap some pics for you guys tomorrow if you like.

Things i dont like about the car... it has gold emblems, and a gold pinstripe (eww), i assume i could ask the dealer to get rid of the pinstripe and emblems.
