Getting another 6 Speed ???

Call me crazy but I posted my white 6 speed (5500mi) in the local paper today. I want to try to get a new CL-S, diff color, 6 speed, with Navi. 2 dealers wanted $7000 + my car + ttl. I couldn't agree to that.

I should have bought exactly what I wanted 2 months ago but my local dealer had very high prices on their new ones so I bought this mint used one that I was surprised to find, and saved some over their new ones. Now I realize how great the car is and want a new, diff color one with Navi! I love the car and will be happy with it even if I can't do this deal, but it can't hurt to try.
It's an expensive change of mind, I know, but I plan to keep it longterm and want a loaded one in a dif color. Crazy, I know.
I can see trading a 1-2yr old automatic for the 6 speed, but this is crazy!

I'm wanting to sell it for more than most smart CLers here would pay.The dealer offered me, I guess about 25k. I want to get $27.5 to $28 locally if I can, but I know the used car market is a dud now.

You've been mulling about this so much that I knew I'd see this thread at some point.

I hope they deal with you well and wish you the best with your new six speed with Navi. It really is a great car and I'm sure you won't regret the 'upgrade'.

If you're white one is in good condition (I'm sure it is), you should do well in the sale. My last car was white and I think it's a good car color.

Where??? I've talked to 5 or 6 dealers and none are below $30-30.5k on a Navi.

I don't know how Texas works, would you have to pay taxes on the new one if you sold the old one privately? Depending on what you could get in the sale, plus the cost of ttl on the new one, it seems like you could perhaps get a nice aftermarket navi and get it painted at a body shop in whatever color you like. It'd probably be a better paint job anyway than what comes stock. Just an idea.

I saw a couple 03 CLSes on my dealer's lot today but I didn't check to see if they were 6speeds or not.

That is serious money to lose and I agree with Scrib regarding putting in an after market NAV system. However, if you plan on keeping it long term and you'll be happier with a new color and NAV, then do it.

You are now wasting money twice if you are doing this. Calculate how much your car has depreciated (depending on how much you get for it) and how much extra the new one costs. Is it worth it? Why not spend the money on misc. stuff...

I think the car looks best in the darker colors - anthracite or black with ebony interior. No red, blue or white, altho white with black probably looks good. My priority is 6 speed with Navi, price could override color. Never had a black car and heard both sides of balck, yay or nay. It's the most sought after color, and anthracite.
