gettin towed

dumb question, but still a question...so when you get "towed" (knock on wood you won't) how do they get the e-brake off? anything about the angle they get the car at?

i completely understnad what you guys are saying...but i didn't see a "no parking this time to this time" sign...not a good feeling knowing that you parked on that exact spot and its not there a couple hours later.... so I'm asking how they tow it without the driver there...

I seen this guy towing car in my apt. He basically put jack with wheel under your car, lift ur car up high, and just push the car out.

When they towed my friends car (which at the time was an auto) they poped an airbag between the frame of the door and the car and then inflated it. It moved the door away enough to get it unlocked and open. Then they released the PB, lifted the front end and towed it away. $200 later he got the car back.

Definitely slim jimmed it if the parking brake was off and the car was out of gear when you picked it up. How else would they have done it unless David Blain towed your car?

I think I just saw the commercial on TV... isn't he going to have your CL-S suspended by a crane 100 ft up in the air and live in it with no food or water for 40 days or something like that? Actually, that would explain how the car was moved, they just raised it with a crane.

Okay, on the real, I had mine slim jimmed when the stupid f*ckers at the car wash locked my keys in my car. I was pretty pissed off but they promised it wouldn't leave any marks and it wouldn't screw up the rubber weatherstripping. They were right. It was fine after they got the door open. You'd be amazed by people who have a lot of experience with slim jim and how quickly and effectively they can get your door open. Kind of scary actually.

It was put on a flat bed, just like mine was, on my 21st birthday.

I was told by several lock smiths that our cars couldn't be slim jim'd. He said something about the rubber seal beeing too big and thick, due to the security locks.

So I believe that they didn't slim-jim it open, release the e-brake, drop from P-N, tow it to their place, put it from N-P, and call it a day.

Don't know how they released the PB, but I do know that tow truck drivers usually have no respect for your car. I once saw 6 tow trucks come into a parking lot together hook on to 6 cars and literally drag them down the road. One was a newer BMW and they lifted it by the front wheels cause they couldn't get to the rears. All I saw was the poor car hopping down the road since the car was in gear
