Do you mean a place to put the cap? I don't understand.

If it's that part where the hole is, kinda like a flip cover for it right? I had it on all my old cars too.

I don't have that on my TL either. I think they are made that way.

I think that's how the car knows when your cap is not on all the way and the dash lights up the service message or something... Just my guess.

I hope it didn't fall into your tank! Haven't noticed mine.

You aren't talking about the restrictor that prohibits you from putting leaded gas into it are you? Those are used anymore on some cars because there is no leaded gasoline sold anywhere in the US.

I think we are talking about the little flap that opens when you put the nozzle in . I know I had mine when I first got my car, but now it is gone . I think it sticks in the open position. My other car did the same thing. I dont think it is much to worry about

Maybe it's that freaking MTBE that they stick in our gas that melted the sucker...

i posted that question several months ago. i know what your talking about....that little metal flap that pops back up ones you remove the gasoline nozel. i have one on my civic but not on the cl-p. when i asked this question the last time, several other cl owners, including owners of cl-s'....they confirmed that they did not have that flap either so i guess this is normal. i honestly don't think it fell into the gas tank! and if you will look at the hole where you put the gasoline nozel, you will find that there are no hinges to hold that metal flap.

this topic answers a question i had in my mind too...i only see my car a few times during the year, and the last time i saw it, i filled the gas tank and it felt different taking the nozzle out...so i looked and didn't see the flap.

i thought it fell in, but i couldn't confirm whether i had one or not.

The "flap " is no longer required and as such is redundant and no longer used.Jens
