Gas Stations: Feel the difference ??

Anyone else notice this, or it might be psychological ? I could swear that the last time I got gas (was just about on the 'E') the car has felt stronger/more responsive. Now the problem is I dont remember where i got it from I'm thinking that since they now have these government required mixtures going on, and what not, it is more likely than ever that the 91 or 93 we get for the CL-S is gonna vary in quality from place to place. I know some replies will say it's the weather (temp.) but I don't think so at this time of year in New York.

I know my car runs better in the cold, and at this time of year we get mad temp changes throughout the day. 60 during the day and hi 20's/low 30's at night. It gets cold real quick when the sun goes down.

I've never run anything other then 93 in my car, but since the CLS is equipted with knock sensors, the computer will retard the timing if you're running low octane gas, which will result in a slower car.

I've heard stuff about "winter blend" gas, so maybe the stations are switching over to the summer blend

I've felt a great difference when I switched from Shell to Amoco. Engine feels stronger and smoother.

maybe it was because your car was ~ 100# lighter from being out of gas.

Good to see you are enjoying the Mods! I can never get my car much over 20mpg either. Don't want to let those vtec cam lobes go to waste.

All gas is the same. Only difference is the additive packages each of the brands use. Independent brands use cheaper and lower dose of additives.

The additives are put into the tanker when it loads. Until then all
gasoline is basically generic. There is not that much difference in
the additive packages.

I work for one of the major oil companies.

Hellz yeah.

However with the way the price of gas has been going up I really need to start driving more conservatively.
