legal issue regarding my 03 cl-s

ok well a few months ago i got a ticket for doing a 96 in a 65. went to court, payed a fine and it went on my record.

now here is the deal. i just threw on 35% tint all the way around, which is illegal in illinois to have the 2 front sides tinted, and i realize that is my risk.

my question is, do tint tickets go on your record, or do you just pay a fine, or rip it off and show them a picture? i think in illinois its 3 strikes and your license is suspended. i cannot afford to have anything else be going on my record.

everyone tells me, i most likely wont get pulled over, cause cops dont bother with highend cars like acura, bmw, and benz's. they only look for the crazy drivers, or the fast n furious looking cars. i dont believe that at all. i think any car has a risk when putting tint on there, whether it be a high end model or a piece of crap.

what do you guys think, or have any experiences with tint tickets and what u did for them?

well. i tint tickets are fix-it tickets.. so you either have to have it fixed or pay it, but even if you choose to pay it, it wont put any points on your license... because its not a moving violation, its like a parking ticket, or a noise violation ( which is what most speeding tickets are changed to when you plea bargain through a lawyer).

Yea i got 35% put on my front windows, and within the first week got pulled over twice for it. I got 2 fix it tickets. I brought it back to the tinter and had him remove them then you go to the police station and show them there is no tint. To me it wasnt worth the hassle. Iv'e had no front license on my cars for 4 years not 1 problem, but the tint is. I see alot of people driving with tint thou, and wonder how they haven't got fucked with yet.

brian-
when u got the two tickets and had the tint removed, where did the tickets go after you showed them u have no tint anymore?

and if i get pulled over for this, im gonna throw a 55% shade on there. can hardly tell its there, but then again u can. maybe they wont bother me as much as this % could. this 35% i got looks alot darker then what i thought, but then again my car is silver so it will look darker.

I believe they just drop the tickets and thats it. I just went in and showed them, they checked it off and i left. So where you getting your car tinted. Just curious. I have a cutout around my 3rd brake light and vinyl on the top. I might eventually redo it, but i want to find a shop who can go over the dots good. I've seen to many tint jobs that look like shit from the dots.

The 3 strikes and license suspension should be for moving violations, otherwise people getting parking tickets wouldn't be driving so frequently and supporting the person collecting money from the fines. That is the way I would see it, and since tint is not a moving violation it shouldn't be a problem.

moving violations are speeding, reckless driving, etc. etc. Moving violations are things you do wrong while driving. Having tint on the windows or any other part of the car that is illegal is a fix-it ticket, if your driving or not.
