Did everybody who installed the denso iridium plugs do gap the spark plugs before they installed them?

Q. Do I need to set the gap?
A. Generally, no. The DENSO Iridium Power plug comes pre-set with a protective sleeve over the firing end, to protect the gap from accidental alteration. DENSO Iridium Power’s ultra-efficient firing power compensates for normally recommended gap settings that are smaller than the pre-set value. In the cases of vehicle modifications (nitrous, turbo-chargers, super-chargers, high power ignition systems, etc.), some adjustments may be desired. Or, if you prefer to remain consistent with factory specifications, you may adjust. However, please be careful not to place any stress on the fine center electrode during adjustment. You could accidentally break off the very hard, and therefore brittle, tip.

nashua,
Thanks for the info but I was worried that the plugs might not be gapped correctly. Just because the plugs say pregapped doesn't mean they are. Thanks

Interesting indeed that you don't have to regap! I've never ever installed a full set of pre-gapped plugs without checking them and making some minor adjustments! Wow! Unbelievable dudes!

yes!

Always check and verify the gaps out of the box with a gauge! Who knows what could of happened at the factory or supplier. i.e. DROP!!

if im not mistaken the larger gap will provide more torque, but make it harder on the ignition system to fire a spark ...

Well if you look at a spark plug you have a gap between the tip and the electrode. "Gap" means to make sure the distance between the two pieces is what the manufacturer wants it.

When I checked my plugs before installing them were perfect for gap. So no need to gap them really. I like double checking my plugs though. You just have to be extremely careful with the denso ones.

So there must be a 'turny clicky thing' errr... a tool of sorts to check for this?

Thanks Zapata!

yah, my friend has a flat disc that increases in thickness. You slide the plug over and rotate the disk until it hits the metal then look at the corresponding number for the gap measurement. You should be able to pick one up at a autoparts store.
