Fuel pump issue, possibly? help

I'm having a problem with my CL-S if I take multiple short trips. I start the car and it starts but it sounds like it's gonna die and feels like it as well. If I don't quickly shove the car in reverse and/or rev the engine, it dies. Is this a fuel pump issue?

When I start my car and the engine is cold, it starts without issues, so I don't think it's the spark plugs (soon to be replaced, anyways).

Car is a 2001 with 76k miles. Soon to have 105k mileage work, given the car's age.

Any idea?? Could it be a sensor if not the fuel pump?? And if so, which one?

does it happen all the time? my friends 99' TL did this to me and he was just like "yeah, sure, you just wanted to rev it"

and why would you do the 105k mile work done 30k miles early? its the useage and not the age that affects most parts...unless I guess the car has been sitting on a dealer lot for the past year not doing anything?

Well the reason fo the 105k service now is because of the car's age. The manual bases it on age OR mileage, whichever comes first.

Regarding the actual problem: it doesn't happen all the time but has been increasing in frequency the last month or so.

well if your doing the service at a dealer/repair shop you might just mention it to them and getting it checked out there

Yes it was an issue with the 2001 CL's. There was a TSB about it and acura was supposed to replace the fuel regulator and ECU.

The issue is Winter Gas being used in warmer weather in the spring. I have this issue on my 01 CL as well and I just deal with it since i'm at 133k miles and there is no way the dealer will perform the TSB for free. I just start the car, rev it slightly for 20 seconds and its back to normal.

This is also known as "hot soak"

From another thread:

Acura TSB (B01-001)
addresses intermitent hard start after hot soak. The cure for that is to replace the fuel pressure regulator. The cold start, long crank is an issue we see most in fall and spring. It too is fuel related. The gas companies switch from Winter to Summer blends at those times and the change in vapor pressure from the fuel can cause wierd starting problems- particularly if you still have winter gas and the temp gets warm or summer gas and the temp gets cold.
