Not really into fixing up my car (just lowered with TL Lip Kit), but because I just got my tax returns and wanted to blow some money away, I recently bought the WEAPON-R "secret weapon" intake with a heat shield and ram air kit (came included) for my CL-S 6 speed. Over the weekend I tried installing it on my car and right away noticed it was very short. I called and talked to their Tech and emailed them a picture I took of the problem. To my dismay, he emailed me back (as if I'm stupid) and told me I don't have an Type S setup and emailed me a picture he has of a CL. I kept replying to him "Yes I do have a 'Type-S' CL" and what can/will do... but never got another response. So what I ended up doing since I felt they didn't want to help me was look at the competitors’ websites. Turns out CT-Engineering and AEM offers intakes for cl-p, cl-s, and cl-s w/ manual. I called CT and asked a rep and he informed me that the 6 speed's piping is longer than the auto type-s. So I emailed the weapon-r tech this useful information and to no avail, still didn't get a response. Couldn't believe I'm doing their work!!! All I want to know from him is do they make it for the cl-s 6 speed or not so I can get a refund. Still... no response. Buyers beware!!!

 

Should have asked here before you bought one...

My AEM broke because of bad motor mounts/shitty circumstances so I went back to stock.

Still sucks though!

 

I have one on my CL-S but its not a 6MT

I also emailed them several times and always got a response same day, sometimes same hour

 

here's the deal from what I remember. CT was correct when they said the Type S 6mt has shorter piping then the auto. the secret weapon was made for the auto not the 6mt. Black Label is running the Secret weapon and had to make an extension collar for it to work properly. I was actually looking into the Secret Weapon as well, but I wanted it to fit properly. I took pictures, measurements, gave them as much as possible to start making them at the correct length, but they didn't seem to have any interest in doing it. Of course when I first contacted them, they didn't know what I was talking about. They didn't know there was a difference between the auto and 6mt.

My suggestion, sell it to a Auto guy, and get yourself a P2R or CT.

 

6MT is different than the automatic. Automatic tl/cl have an VSA, 6MT does not. Part of the VSA system is a second throttle body along the intake line. Your car does not have this which is why the tubing is too short.

Telling them it's a type S in this case was futile, what you should have been telling them is that it's a 6MT.

 

Doesn't sound like the company's fault. The 6mt was limited. Many people just think they came in auto only.

 

I don't know if I'd let them off the hook completely. When I ordered mine I asked several times if it will fit the 6MT and explained the whole VSA throttle body issue. Supposedly the distributor contacted weapon R and they confirmed it would fit.

Lesson here is never assume anything will work on a CLS 6MT just because it works on the automatic. Come to Azine and ask us first
