Hmmm.. Why doesn't his graphs continue.. Why is there such a huge drop off? IMRC or VTEC problem ? Do these gains seem reasonable ?

Gains seem good, temps were lower, but something is wrong with his car, dyno is way off. There shouldn't be a dip from 5000-7000 rpm.

No headers maybe and the chart Y axis doesn't go to zero.

good point. ChadT has installed them on his car. I'm also a little weary because that dyno just looks plain weird.

I've had them on for a while. I do feel a slight gain in the midrange but it's hard to tell. I can tell you the car feels much stronger when it has been sitting in traffic or parked hot. The car would definitely feel kind of dead when the manifold got hot. Now it feels like the car just warmed up all the time. I wanted to get back to the track but I think they're closed now.

Much cheaper than the Unichip and no CELs!

ChadT, how do you think your car will act in the winter since you said it takes a little longer to warm up?

No worries. It doesn't take any longer to warm up. It just prevents the manifold from absorbing a lot of heat when the car isn't moving. Did you ever notice the car feeling a little sluggish after being stuck in traffic for a long time? Basically the intake air will become heated by the manifold. Also, the intake air temp sensor will send that higher reading to the ECU causing it to pull timing. I didn't bypass the coolant to the throttle body either which could effect winter driving. I tried it but the car felt slow and there was a strong smell of raw fuel in the intake after I ran it like this so I assume having the TB bypassed was causing an overly rich condition.

Are you sure you unhooked and re-routed the correct lines??

There is little to no affect on heat transfer from the TB. The minimal amount of heat transferred or not would be seen by the IAT and the fuel adjusted accordingly.

Yeah they were the coolant lines to the TB. I just looped the one around so it went back into the cooling system. I did it when I installed the spacers. I was going to take the spacers out but when I got the intake cover off the smell of gas about knocked me over so I thought I would try hooking the coolant lines back up. I re-connected the coolant lines and put the intake cover back on and the car ran fine. The TB doesn't even get very warm. Could there be something else on the TB that is effected by heat? I would think if a sensor was unplugged I would have seen a code. I don't know what else could have caused the sluggishness and the fuel smell. Did you have yours bypassed without the S/C with no problems?

Me neither. I figure I'm better off with the coolant lines connected up here anyway. 15-20 degree steady highway drives are not uncommon.
