ive been here for awhile now and i have some constructive critisism that id like to direct at the mods and everyone else for discussion for ways to make our forum a better, more thourough and enjoyable forum. i think we all appreciate what we have here but that is not to say that there isnt room for improvement. a few good ideas have been voiced, such as a way to look up members by location. that is a cool idea. i have a few other ideas that id like to present and hopefully you guys can add to them and maybe we can continue to see this forum grow.

1. a "top ten track times" page where the top 10 or so 1/4 mile times are highlighted and their timeslips are shown as well as the conditions of their run and their mods, this would give us all a way to see WHAT works, what doesnt, etc, and give a few people bragging rights...i think it would be very fun and informative to have something like that.

2. a "homepage" with basic site updates, honda/acura news, links to related pages with honda/acura news, birthday announcements, etc..just a nice Homepage for the site so that you arent just thrown DIRECTLY into the forums...in fact, this is the only forum ive ever seen that doesnt have some type of homepage. also, this page could highlight any major announcements by the mods and eliminate alot of the annoying "sticky" posts everywhere....that way, upon coming to acura-cl.com, we would be greeted with all the latest must-know info and news and THEN procede to the forums.

3. a "featured member" every few weeks or every month where a members car is featured and a write-up is done on his or her car, as well as a whole pile of pics and maybe even a pic of the member themself, as well as some basic personal information to help everyone get to know eachother more (as if some of us dont know eachother enough already ) a person could be nominated by other users, or simply selected by the mods, or some sort of thing like that.

4. a seperation of the classifieds section...like one forum for "acura cl parts and accesories" and another classifieds forum for all the other shit that people sell on here like digi cams, video games, dvds, etc, etc...it would be nice to not have to fish through all the stuff you really dont care to even look at for sale.


these are the 4 ideas that i have at this time, i really hope i get some feedback on these or other people coming forward with their ideas and thoughts

dont mind her, shes a goofball, but shes actually right, for the most part, CLUBGP has most of the suggestions i made already implimented...however i WILL NOT be in line ANYTIME soon to downgrade to a pontiac from an acura...hehehe

 

those sound like good ideas, but i think everyone that runs the board is quite busy with other things, if i am not mistaken, i think soopa is working on the members by location idea...

I really like the "members by location" idea and the "Top 10 1/4-milers".

 

I'd have to agree...

While I'd love to get involved with some that that stuff, I just don't have the time. And I'd say most of the members here are the same way.

Now... If things could be automated, such as for jimmy's 2nd suggestion, that could be something...

I dunno... The suggestions are great, but it'd take some dedication to keep up with. If someone would be interested, then go for it!

DEFINITELY bring back the home page, with like a gallery and a page with dyno sheets for the different mods out there

I Like the idea of having an actual website again
