Does it make a difference if use the polarg m6 or the piaa replacement bulbs? Thanks.

for the 18W it only makes it bright during the night... it "looks" like a fog light, but still a useless roadlamp... and may cause burning in the housing depending on how often you have them on....

It DOES NOT cause burning. The white discoloration above the bulb is there from the factory. It may looks suspicious but it comes that way brand new. I just replaced one of mine and that's the way it came.

Oh yeah.... the PIAA 18W bulbs (19224) are the same size and color as the POLARG M6. I have one of each currently burning. They are three times brighter than the stock lame yellow bulb. None of us changed them for brightness but we changed for color matching.

The so-called burning that people were reporting is a white area above the bulb. I looked at mine after the reports started coming in and I saw a white circle about 1/2 inch in diameter. I thought it was burned as well. Later I had a lens break and I had to buy a whole new assembly. When I opened the package to install it, there was more "burning" after complete non-use than the one that was in there for 2 years. So I have to assume that there is no "burning". I put a new one in and it's staying!
