Flea Bay headers

I was looking around on ebay and found a couple differnent cheap headers. First set i found where stupid cheap, $145 from Auto Grimmig, they do not state weather or not they are only for A/T ( i might add that they looked pretty nice), next is the Dc Sport headers i read in the past these are only for A/T has any one made them work on the 6-speed? if so how much work was it? Last is the OBX headers they clearly state they are for A/T but again how hard would it be make them work? simple bending and bashing some welding? If any one is selling Comptech headers I may be interested.

Get dc they are a very reputable brand. My bro has their header and dp on his prelude and install was a breeze. Trust me u don't wanna have ur car apart then find u gotta make it fit somehow.

Fyi headers for our cars are always for the auto unless stated otherwise. Remember there are 100 tls and cls for every 6 speed. Which is why they don't say it's for auto.

It would not hurt to ask tho.

Don't buy cheap shit tho. U will likely regret it. And even if they do fit. No telling how good the welds are.

headers for the 6speeds need a bend in the rear header to fit around the motor mount. DC only fit the auto. I remember someone grinding their motor mount to make them fit on their 6speed but you don't want to do that.
keep your eyes open for some used comptechs.

The older Comptech headers still were auto only. I know because I have a set without the bend.

Only 2 types of headers for 6 speeds:

-Newer design of CT
-XS-P headers

I'd get some XS-Power ones, as they seem to be decent again.

You can make the auto headers fit the 6MT. It requires some grinding of the rear engine mount bracket & installing with it out of the car & then installing it after the header is on. Someone did it here. Don't remember who though.

Just curious, where did you read/ get info on the XS power headers being "decent" again?
I'm looking for a header but have been reluctant to purchase XS power based on some reviews I've read on here

I emailed them a couple of weeks ago and they said they fit both at and mt. I'm trying to get them to honor the price they sold them before.

Nope. They never really answered my question. They just told me "yes they fit a acura cls6." I probably try to email them again but I don't think they will honor it.

This is how you get auto headers to fit.

^That's way too much metal taken off. I don't think that is structurally reliable anymore. Matter of time until it cracks.

I'm not saying that's what I would do or recommend but a few people have done it. The guy that posted the picture has had it on for over a year or two and taken his car to the track numerous times.

^Single case study and only a year or two... I guess it matters how long you plan on keeping the car, but I don't think that mount would last 10 years if your putting down some horses.

He had a dyno with 282hp and has added some more mods since then. I do agree with the time period being short and I wouldn't do it. Just giving some options for people.

With the way the mount is designed i highly doubt it will crack. It is VERY thick and with the piece that goes across the back to connect the 2 side pieces (the part that was ground away) its not going anywhere. You could always poly fill/window weld a auto mount and stick it in place so you dont have that large bracket.

^ since you said it can work that good enough for me, although if I were to do it I would have a set of longtube headers made. When I got the dc sport headers I wasn't planning on modding the car as much as I did.

If you had a set of long tubes made you shouldnt have to worry about it as they would be custom made to fit

Ill let you know how it goes when i get long tubes

How loud are the headers on 3.2 with no turbo? Does it eliminate the catylic converter?

Sorry for annoying questions, i'm new and i'm trying to learn about the car..

Cat stays where it is. Not a huge difference in sound, a little deeper.
Resonator and mufflers determine the sound more.

I got ct headers and spent 100 or maybe more on dei header wrap and wrapped the shit outta them to ensure a nice deep clean sound and it turned out to be everything I wanted.

Then I wanted more sound so I got ct mufflers.... Then I wanted even moreeeeee sound..... So I got the xlr8 hfc which makes the car scream pas 5 k.

And I shit u not it sounds like an f1 car in a tunnel. All my friends who have been in the car when I goose it under the tunnel and literally baffled at how sexy she sounds...

Love ittttttt
