fitting rsx seats in our CLs?
after driving around in some other sports cars, i've came to conclusion that our seats sit too high, even at the lowest setting. I do like the rsx seats.
so any body tried putting them in? also do the airbags plug right in?
if its a direct swap then i'll do this right away.

If I was gonna swap seats I would go with the 2 tone ones from the 07 tl type s. http://l.yimg.com/dv/izp/acura_tl_ty..._frontseat.jpg
those would be pricey as hell tho.

Alot of people swap them into 1st gen's.
I love that our seats are high up... right up, rigth back
yea why would you want to "downgrade"??
if ur doing it for weight get carbon fiber seats... there is a set on ebay for like 400.... that'll save you 200 LBS practically

also for those 07 tl seats youd have to find a wrecked car. Even if you bought the parts online new at 25% off dealer prices, the driver seat alone would be over 3 grand when I added all the parts together.

i fit perfectly in the rsx seats. plus i dont really care about the powered adjustments, its never really cold in houston so i sure wont miss the heated seats.
like i said, the main reason is because they're too high. i get annoyed by that now everytime i get into it.

i can get the seats for a 300 with the airbags so its definitely worth a try.
but can someone confirm they're a direct swap?
plus i think u guys should test drive some other cars in order to get what i'm talking about

look at post 6.
I am 6'3 I wish I sat lower. I only like the head room when I get a hair cut since I don't hit the roof. But when the hair grows back.... I HATE IT lolz. Is there a way to redo the rails so I could at least sit an inch lower?
I like these seats from the evo http://www.roadfly.com/new-cars/wp-c...ecaro-seat.jpg

You can swap in pretty much any seat with the right brackets. I'm sure you can swap in the rsx seats with the CL seat brackets attached to them somehow, but then they will likely be the same height defeating the purpose. If you used the RSX seat brackets(which I think you would have too since they are manual) you will need to custom mount them to the car.
Also the airbags you can forget about. They won't work.
I was wrong in a previous post that the RSX seats are a direct bolt in. That's not the case.

my buddy has the rsx seat in his sunfire and it's not amazing by any means... I'd get aftermarket seat... MAYBE carbon fiber..
save a shit load of weight and unleash some serious pwr
in the weight loss category that is the biggest thing one could change about our cars to lighten them up a significant amount.
One seat is the equivalent of doing a CF trunk, hood 2 times over

Im also 6'2" and I cant figure out how the seats a to high for you. Are you sure they are still fully adjustable? have you sat in another CL to confirm that its not your seats malfunctioning?

Yea, but its maybe a 20lb difference. Thats new wheels at 5lbs a corner (achievable). Or just pulling the stereo out. Id save more weight by just pulling the passenger seat out.
I didnt buy the hood for the weight savings. I bought it because I love carbon fiber. It just isnt meshing with my car. I prefer a classier appearance with it. I dont want any more attention from people/cops (cops arent people, theyre robots). The drop and the rims are enough for outward appearances.

The bottom bolsters are practically non existant. The uppers arent that bad, but they can be better. My Prelude had nicer seats. They were more sport oriented, and they actually held my body perfectly so they were very comfortable. These stock seats are not that comfortable to me. I do alot of driving, so comfort is a must. Ill go as far as saying my 88 Civic had more comfortable seats.
The stock seats do weigh around 60lbs a piece.

Nspec - I did a quick search and found out the RSX rails are 16" apart. I dont have any measurements for the CL rails, but I may measure them tonight. You got me interested in this.
One question I would have though is would the CL seatbelt buckle fit in the RSX female end. Ive seen a few Hondas (and I cant remember the models off the top of my head) that have a narrower buckle. I hope the CL and RSX are the same, along with the airbag.

I would assume the female end of the buckles would be the same for similar years that's something I think they would standardize throughout all the models. If not you can just get different belts; not a big deal to swap. . .

i'll take the measurements in the parts car.
u got exact measurements for the rsx seats?
Thats what I got from a Civic forum. It sounded like a very round number, so Im not sure if thats exact. I dont know anyone with an RSX but if I find one at a dealer I may be able to take measurements.
My guess is that the front to back measurements will most likely be different between the two cars.

specially when you make the "hawk" up i guess i havent found my perfect sitting position in the car yet ... i keep changing it for a month now
