I meant the bolster on the ass portion of the cushion. Theres a slight bit of wear on the leather itself. But its a small area. It could also be dirt

our seats weight about 80lbs or so. so 160ish total, dont knwo where ur gettign ur numbers from.

but most racing seats are like 20-30lbs. cf is even less

I thought the stock cl seats were closer to 60 lbs each but not sure till i take mine out and weigh them. The seats that they are shipping me is in 2 boxes, both double boxed and they weighed 45 lbs. So it looks like both seats should save roughly 30 lbs hopefully.

I am thinking about going to an uphosltery shop and having them redo the stitching in red maybe and get some other interior work done but depends on price.

They are, atleast the passenger one is.
The driver's one may weigh closer to 80lbs thou.
My guess would be around 140 for the pair of factory seats vs 60-70lbs for the adverage pair of aftermarket one's.
You will notice a differnce in your car with the switch.
To make it close to the feeling ,pull the passenger seat and both rear cushions and the rear center then go for a ride.

I'm sure you can feel that differance too. Right.
I had my whole car gutted at one point and it was much quicker and it was stock.
Now it would really fast

Yea you can definately tell a difference. I also installed 18 lb wheels which made a big difference, removed front bumper damper and some other weight items.

back to the seats, they arrived today and i just scrubbed them down with zaino leather soft and leather in a bottle. The driver side lower bolsters do have some wear/a little discoloring like u mentioned civic, but besides for that and some slight fraying on the side bolster where ppls back rubs they are almost perfect. These seats fit so nice and are really comfy. Heres a pic.

now time to remove stock seats check brackets and im assuming get custom ones made.

I just don't see the point of trading our seats for ones that are un-heated and manual adjustable just to save a mere 20lb?

Ill have to wait and see what total weight saving is still. Personally I dont need the heated seats, and i dont use my rear seat so dont really need all the motors in the stock seats. Also the rsx seat will be situated a few inches lower than the cl seat when i am done with it. I havnt sat in a rsx seat in awhile and i must say I like how it feels better than the CL seats and the CL was one of my favorite seats.

For now I am just gonna do the rsx steering wheel and rsx seats. In the future I might go for the quick release, racing seats, cage or bar welded with 4 point harness etc, but thats a bit too much for me right now and it is really expensive.

Another option that I almost went with was get the dc5 recaro seats, which would be lighter than the stock leather rsx seats. Maybe I can pick up one of these in the future and can swap it with the rsx driver seat i have now since they should match up id think. Those are pricey also since all the rsx owners want for the jdm swap tho.

if you guys want to go with seats with out side airbags, then as far the SRS light issue goes, you can try out the airbag module from 03 Accord LX Coupe. That might take care of the problem.

brian can you take detailed pictures of the RSX rails?
I forgot to take the ones on my seats.

I'll need them to show how to remove the rails.

Are you referring to the condition of the seats? Also nspec had the pre 05-06 seats. The 05-06 seats are better(ones I posted pic of). The leather on 05-06 is better quality and thicker than the leather on my cl seats.

They look pretty damn good. I just never took a good quality picture and my seats aren't in that great of a condition. And I was actually gonna swap them out for the newer RSX Type-s seats. This swap definitely worth it.

Also, my main reason for installing them was the height issue. I'm 5'10 but hated how high oem seats were. Another reason to go with the RSX seats was that I wanted the factory look.

i wasnt trying to be an ass, sorry if i came off like that.
I love the way rsx-s seats look, but for some reason to me, they looked way outta place in our cabin...
Better pics would be cool, to confirm my thoughts or not..
Plus, i do agree the 05-06 type-s seats look better as well...

The steering wheel looks better for sure, so no doubt about that...

Do you have a torso like Goro or something? I'm 6'3" and i have at least a few inches about my head with the seat all the way down, and with a slight tilt back.

damn. how many times will i have to explain this. Its just about how high the seats were in general. it felt like u were sitting in a chair.

it was never about the headroom for me and never had any issue with it.

Edit: well i guess I didnt word it right.

You just wanted a lower seat, thats all.

I like the seating position currently. I hate hopping in my brothers Accord because I feel like Im sitting at the kitchen table.

I do like the RSX seats though and Im sure the bolsters are more supportive.

At no point during this whole thread did anyone ever say whether the RSX seats fit directly into the CL do I get an answer after all of this?
