Congratulations, man. Great win, those new Maxima's are pretty powerful especially when mated with their 6-speed tranny... as asked before, did he have a good lunch and know how to drive stick? I'm sure he did, so even more congratulations on your win. BTW, what do you have done to your cls?

 

I dunno how much torque the Max has, but it down on hp and up on weight, isn't it? The Altima was quicker in the tests I've seen...

The Maxima weighs 3 lbs more than the Altima IIRC. Dyno tests that I have seen of the Maxima show that Nissan underrated the tq and overrated the hp.

 

Who knows the real outcome though. The 3.5L in the MAx and Altima do not have the high reving power as the CL-S does. Even if the CL-S has a auto, if its in the power band, the Max might have trouble.

The Max only advantage is TQ. And that is only used for off the the line till you hit 2nd gear.

 

The Maxima 6spds are dynoing 205hp but higher TQ. Forget the tq #.

But see whats funny, is that the AUTO CL-S dynos 197-205 stock.

But the 6SPD dynos 210-215 hp for the CL-S.

In a way I don't see Nissan underating the VQ...Seems more overrated than underated.

 

He has been driving stick for a while before his maxima he had an eclipse....it has been like 3 years for him...he has never driven an automatic car..haha...anyways.,...he says he gotta bad laucnh....but hey..thas the risk u gotta take when u race with a stick..!

Nahh i forgot to even take VSA off cuz he told me at tha last minute so i just floored it...thas ALL...and it was dead even...i mean he did just get his MAXIMA..and the stick to drive is diff. on all cars...but still..i dont knmow..ima go out race him again..see if its really true...that he sux that bad at drivn stick

sometimes after a race people bitch about their launches and shit, i always bitch about not getting enough boost... so maybe the guy bitched and really had a bad launch
