Finally!

Well tommorow morning i am finally going to put in the e-manage and get the car tuned and dynoed, iinstalled the water/methanol injection kit last night!

Well they didn't finish the car, they were having some problems, like poping fuses and when they test drove it they told me it's hitting some kind of limiter and they have to call greddy on monday. I really hope they are competent, And i get my my car back in one piece, they said the replaced a 15 amp fuse with a thirty . They don't seem to know anything about the methanol injection kit either, oh god i hope everything turns out ok

Anyone who replaces a fuse that requires 15amp with a 30 amp is an idiot. They also will not receive support from Greddy, they suck at customer support. If I were you, I'd run from these fools.

Send me your map and I'll compare it to one of several I have. If it's the one you got from 02av6, then it's possible it's the one I GAVE him, which I wouldn't recommend as it's set up for 460ish whp. PM me your email address.

are you using a custom harness or did they wire it for u? Don't think you should be hitting the rev limiter because of adding that.

I am using the boomslang harness but without the ignition and injector harness, so they had to wire those two in, but i just ordered the boomslang harness with everything in it overnight delivery. I think maybe they wired somthing wrong Because ther is no reason to be popping fuses or hitting a limiter.

i gather you are using emanage, and not emanage ultimate? i planned to get the boomslang harness except for ultimate, and theres 4 different options for that one, and i have no idea which one to get.

Yeah i am using the blue, I thought no one could get the ultimate to work correctly with our cars? Don't tell me i have to upgrade before i even get the car back! I just checked on the Boomslang site for you to see what harness you need and i have now idea, sorry.

No. I send him MY map which was a first tuned version over the original supplied by scalbert when I PURCHASED the IC/E-Manage kit. It has 0 Air Flow map, supports stock CL-S injectors with minor timing retard and enough fuel. Of course, each car is different and tuning had to be finalyzed on dyno only as I stated when I send him a PM. However, my map will save him the initial setup fee along with trial and error issues.

Further, I specifically, recommended withoutcomp1 to use a boomslang pnp harness (Main/injector/ignition) since it was tested on my vehicle before it saw a production. It's very good harness with 4 connectors and no need to tap the RPM wire seperately - truly Plug-n-Play.

In addition, I told him that e-manage had to be set-up prior to turning it ON which I did for 3 AV6 guys. It has to be done as you know in order for e-manage to run properly and not damage ECU and/or even engine.

Also, johntypes utilizing Ultimate on his NA vehicle. I don't believe the tuner was able to increase timing but seems crank signal is readable. If I have time I might try it sometime.

Question would I be in alot of trouble with the CLS High Boost pulley without any Engine Management? should I just run the stock pulley and wait to get E-Manage and tuned?

the map you sent him is a good map, he sent it to me wondering if the parameters were set ok in case he or the shop changed them. They're the same, the only difference is the boost cut, your map is 2.7v while mine is 2.75v, I don't think that would make any difference.

It's a very conservative map and I told him it would work well as a starter. Like you said, every car is a little different. you can send him my map if you like or anyone as it's not going to do much good as I'm using the greddy pressure sensor and i think the one i sent you supports the greddy p.s. it's all good.

My thought on tuning with water injection is to tune without it. If you tune with it and the water injection has a malfunction (clogged nozzel, etc) under WOT, then you stand a high probability of a very lean condition occuring at the most critical time. I use straight methanol and without the injection, my afr is 11.7-8, with meth, it's 10.9 approx.

Yep, his map is fine.
I also utilizing Greddy sensor right now which is active on my file and Air Flow unchanged (set to 0).

The injection has been reliable so far and each nozzle has a decent screen preventing any clogging. Without I see high 11s to 12.0 AFR and with just mid-11s. I don't use much, only when getting on it at 100% throttle which doesn't happend lately due to traffic. Also, I have a switch to turn the pump ON when needed and the injection starts at 5psi and stops when it falls below.

ultimate can't adjust timing? anyone know why? if that's the case ill just get regular emanage, why tune if i cant adjust timing?

Well i got the car car back with $350 dollars less in my pocket and nothing done! Well i shouldn't say that i got three new coil packs (because they burned them out) and new plugs (because they fouled them) I wish they told me that they weren't 100% on tuning it before i brought the car there, so i pretty much lost the car for a week for nothing. MY LUCK! I found another place pretty close to my house in linden called 1320 performance, i am going to give them a try next week, after i install the e-manage myself. Thats why i don't like anyone working on the car but myself. Oh well shit happens, what can i do!

dude that sucks. they seemed confident when i ask them about tuning. i ran into some issues with them as well. i think they have too much workload. i know it's a drive but the guys at e-shift i think can do it up, that's where i'm going for the tune.

Yeah i know they seemed confident when i went to them also, thats why i went. Oh well, what can i do! I have an appointment at 12 on monday at 1320. They said 100% no problem soa i will see what happens .

And after your done.... could you have them store the map or send me it becuase I believe I'm running the same setup as yours.

That's what I thought, I was suprised when you called me yesterday about that install. I left him the instructions for back up. I installed the crank pulley and headers last night Let me know how that goes, I'm gonna try and boost by the summer.

This is simply speculation, but have you witnessed hitting the rev limiter? If so when has it occured? When I attempted to tune the CLs with my VAFC2 (based off of baseline a/f ratio@dyno), it seemed that if the a/f r was tuned too aggressively, the rev lmiter kicked in at 5500. This seems to have been the ecu/airflow sensor recognizing some sort of boost and cutting power. Keeping adjusted setting for several days lead to CEL's and the like. I finally decided to just keep the settings stock and wait to purchase/mod the 6speed instead of burdening the already burdened AT. Besides, what is the point of of VAFC/E manage without a minimum of bolt ons? Hope this helps.
