A few more Vids

I bought a camara mount that mrsteve recommended and it's great. Last nite I was out tooling around and came up with a few night shots. This was 7ish psi as I was on pump gas backed with 100% methanol injection as I do from time to time to break off the lead deposits from the c16.

There not the best, but more will follow. I'm going to do a daytime run this weekend with the c16 at 10psi.

In the movie, the boost gauge is on the bottom and fuel pressure on top.

cool vids! i would recommend you take it off auto focus, or aim the cam at a stationary object because it looks like it cant make up its mind to focus on the road or on the gauges. pretty sweet when its on those gauges tho is that 3rd gear you are starting in in most of the clips?

I'm going to work on that, the next set should be much better. Yeah, that's from a 3rd gear roll, it's really hard on the car wot in 1-2, wheel hop, spin, you know the drill, it's very hard on the motor mounts. I never tire of this car and the motor has so much potential. Everyone should have a stove under the hood.

that chirp was the road conditions, I hit a small pothole and threw the whole game off a bit on those shifts, hence, hit the limiter oh so breifly, you can see the knock light flash red when it hit the limiter. the pothole caused the car to bounce just enough to chirp.

The EGR has been removed on my car and the pcv has been disconnected from the manifold. I run a hose from where the pcv was into a container that cannot be seen unless your under the car. A homemade catch can without the bling. I put a breather filter on the front head cover as you can see in this pic. So far, the catch can container has hardly a drop in it, that's a good sign and you can see the filter has no oily residue and it's been on there for a couple months now.

Here's a pic of the plate that I made. It's under the brackett that holds the AVCR solenoid where the gold high temp silicone is squishing out.

Wideband is by techedge, and yes, that displays any knock or engine noise as its spliced into the knock detecter wire into the ecu. when you hit the limiter, the motor makes a lot of noise and that thing lights up pretty brightly.

link to detector.

Do you have a different BOV than I do or it that still the TiAL? Man I wish I had the time to take mine to the next level, that's great stuff you've done. I'm just trying to get rid of mine now... Let me know if there's anyone in your area that wants the same setup!

Yeah, it's the same BOV. It's running good and no complaints so far, just some piddly stuff thats inherent to turbo cars. I wish someone would buy your kit also but since your car is paid for, why not keep it for a weekend toy. Eventually, someone will get serious and buy it. Its a very good kit and a pain to install, but once it's in, it's done and the fun begins. Whoever buys the kit, get a hold of me, there are a few things to do to inhance the thrill and add longivity to the motor.

At the rate it's going I just may keep it; not a lot of buyers. I am somewhat surprised, figured there'd be more pull for such a mint 6-speed. Perhaps I should sell the kit and car separate...

So what's #1 on the list of longevity for the motor? Maybe if I do keep it I'll look into it. Thanks,

I think the thing that hurt allmotor was the 91 oct cali fuel, so adding the amquist water injector would be the first step and use straight methanol. I know he added this, but it was added late in the program, and i also know he had the additional injector, and i was really working that injector to lower the cycle on the stock injectors, but never acheived the mark i was looking for. I would try the water injection first and possibly leave it at that if your only going to run 6.5 psi. with straight methanol, i've run 7-7.5psi on pump gas, however ours is 93oct. Straight methanol does not hurt the motor and cools the intake charge, by far the best mod you can add.

If you want to go 10psi, or even make the above setup more correct, the stock injectors would be the second thing to upgrade, i found that my injectors were overmaxed out, with the rc's my duty cycle is running about 60-70% with 58-60 lbs of fuel pressure. eliminate the comptech FPR and get a 1to1 aeromotive, do this in conjunction with changing the injectors. add the greddy pressure sensor.

These items i believe are a good step to take. It's been a learning process and allmotor discovered the defeciencies and was taking some steps to make the tune safer. It's been by trial and error and it's still not perfect.

comptechv6-- on their web site, they have the outlets listed for the usa. you don't have to buy direct from aus.
