not all car blink faster, but basically all modern ones do

some older cars will not blink at all, and just stay lite,

so a different pattern then normal more then likely means a bulb is out
or to check for burnt out bulbs, just turn on the blinkers and walk around the car to visually inspect them (hazards work too)

it is actually the increased resistence that makes it flash faster (aka: less amperage, which to it seems like an burnt out bulb)

and the TA is due to less amperage too, with not being able to heat up the coil (shit can't think of the proper name right now), and when the coil heats up it turns off, then when it cools off, it completes the circuit again, and the lights turn back on (and repeats it self for the blinking effect)

so an electronic vs a mechanical blinker unit

Turning the hazards on and walking around the car would have saved you some time

correct...when i try to use my passenger side signal i get a fast blink...both front and rear blinkers won't come on...however hazards on all 4 corners work properly

my hypothesis is there is a separate relay for the hazards... and then a separate relay for each side of the car for the blinker system.

from the sounds of it, looks like a bad relay.

Did u change the bulbs on the car recently?? cause the resistance is what causes the relay to blink faster... so make sure ur bulbs are oem and are in good condition first.. then look at the relay(s).

i think they are located by the passenger firewall. but i may be wrong.

car electronics diagnosing is something II am not familiar with since I never seem to have electrical issues (amen).

but i think that's should be ur fix bro.

theirs only one relay for the blinkers. when ppl put in led in their turn signals, some members change the relay so the blinkers blink slower, and they only change one relay bc their is only one relay to change.

to OP looking at the wiring diagram, i think you might actually have high resistence in the turn signal switch, which is not allowing enough power through to light up the exterior bulbs, but is enough for the indicater light to light up

so you need a new turn signal stalk

i actually had a little fender bender and recently got my bumper and driver side headlight fixed...since the accident my passenger side headlight(the prob light) has moisture in it and fast blinker prob

really...a new turn signal stalk..wtf would cause that to go...do you think the body shop fucked up my car's electrical when they replaced my driver headlight?
by the way...i am buying 03 headlights from bm and installing(because of the moisture) will this solve the prob or do i still need to fix the signal stalk?

if its not the bulb, the connector from the car (part that plugs into the bulb) might be bad, causing a short or an open

cause you are saying that the bulbs light up with the hazards, but not with the stalk, and it shares the same wiring from the fusebox/dashboard out to the lights

and to go bad, somebody might have hit it just enough, or pushed on it hard enough that it might have dislocated the pins on it

(i know on a 94 accord [not my old one]{runnings light were not working}, that they actually had a new stalk in stock, and that was only like 2-3 months ago, and the honda dealer carrys some parts, but not a whole lot

if you need a stalk, check auto parts stores. I saw someone buy a turn stalk at pep boys.

Get new bulbs first, see if that does anything. Its the cheapest thing.

ummm.... no they can normally order them for you if not in stock,
auto store will proably not have one for our cars, cause they do not go out all that often (normally they are broken instead), and when he saw someone walking out with one , it was proably for a older domestic (never know )
