If it's a CLP, yes that's high. If it's an S, than you're in the ballpark. I'd beat em up for $19K flat though...

if you are going to get one might as well get the type s
but if you want that one walk in there and offer 17.5ks if they dont want it leave. btw: are you financing or paying cash? if u can buy from a private seller and safe tons of money.

Did you check it out on KBB.com or edmunds.com to get an idea of what they're going for? Edmunds has a fair value price that takes the cars condtion as well as your location in mind... you may want to check that out....

Yes, be patient, shop around for a S type that has a lot of TLC by a private owner You see, when you buy from a dealer you have no idea whether the previous owner maintained it well or not. But if you get it from the private owner, you can ask for record of maintenance. Take you time and look for a well maintained one with a reasonable price.

My lease end value was $16,500 and Acura called and wanted to cut me a deal so as to not have to take the car back. I'd say $19 for a CLP is about $3K too high. Mine was a Tyep S with 38,000 miles on it and it was in perfect shape.

Thats too much. Go in and tell em you won't spend more than 16,500. Then walk out if they won't budge. The dealer wants to get rid of the car. You can easily find a '01 CLS for 20,000 though.
