Extended Warranty

Hey guys, I have about 41k miles right now and I am nearing the end of my warranty....I am asking about extended warranty and if it's worth it to buy it? How much does it cost and how many extra miles will i get?

Who is going to sell you a warranty now? Beware, most if not all warranties start counting miles from the date that the vehicle first hit the road (it's called in service date). Therefore, if you purchase a 5 year/50,000 mile extended warranty you would only have 9,000 miles of coverage. Keep in mind that the coverage is only going to be triggered if the breakdown is caused by manufacturer's defect, just like a new car warranty. After 41,000 I would guess all of the defects that are going to happen have already happened. So why buy something that you will never be able to use? Check with your Insurance Department, here in Oregon, consumer complaints about warranty companies are in the top five.

I paid 1000 dollars for my 6 year 100 K mile warranty with 0 deductible from acura. check around , because dealers vary largely . But with the extra tranny warranty I wouldnt have bought one. I mean you have to think of it kind of like insurance.
