Prices range depending on the length of the warranty (mileage and years). The price will also be higher the more miles you have on your car. Generally you want to get it within the first 12k miles at the most. Prices also vary from dealer to dealer... so call around to get the best price. I ended up checking dealers from Florida to NY on mine.. and my local dealer just beat out PAA on price.
I beleive I paid about $900 for a 6 yr/100k warranty but I waited almost 10 months after I bought the car. It probably would have been cheaper at the time or purchase.

So you pay like 1000 for a 50K warranty since the car is covered for 50 already. Honda makes a ton of money on this deal.
And in my case I now have a 100K warranty on my tranny with all the problems they have been seeing. So is it worth the extra money?
No matter what you buy you are asked if you want one. If you are like me (never bought one and in his 40s), you have to look at the 1000s saved over time. If I had to put out 3 K I might be upset, but then I have it in the bank from not ever buying one.
Put the 1000 into headers

As for the tranny warranty.. it only covers the tranny... nothing else. When I had my CL I had two electrical problems at different times....the sunroof stopped working at 56k miles and the gas light stayed on around 62k miles. Brought it in to the dealer, got a loaner each time, fixed in two days total for each problem, no questions asked. The sunroof problem would have cost around $1000 and the gas light issue around $400, so my $750 5 yr./ 75k warranty almost paid for itself twice.

well that was one case with one car. I have had 10 new cars without the extended warranty. The gamble was worth it for me. If that much went wrong on my car in 56,000 I would get rid of it.
1000 bucks for the sun roof and 400 for a light! That is crazy. If is that that much you got a bad car and acura is losing money on this deal.
I put 20K on my cars each year. Typically brakes and tires
My advice is if you can afford it get rid of it at 48K. That way you get more in trade and not much is done to the car. And, you do not have to go crazy with mods, just get the next gen model which usually has some additional features.
I traded a 99 tl for the 01 cls. Looking to see what is next since I have 42k on the car.

It wasn't a bad car... great car actually. Those were the only problems I ever had. Never needed new tires, new brakes or anything... it was great. Just changed the oil and added gas. The sunroof problem was a real problem, but the gas light problem was a fluke.... the wire wore out from rubbing behind the dash. Guess the wire just fell into a bad spot.
As for the cost... keep in mind that at $75/hr. labor and they had the car for two days.. most of the cost was labor. Didn't matter to me though b/c it didn't cost me a dime... they could have charge 20 hours labor if they wanted to. Had I not had a warranty, I would have gone through other channels to fix it to save some money.

What I also think happens is when you are under warranty they can take their time. I have had a couple of things over the years with my cars and when I am covered under warranty they seem take their time.
