Experiences with AEM intake
install...shouldn't be too hard, I don't know though since I didn't do mine. if you do a Search
for CAI install or AEM install you should be able to find step by step info.
performance gains...not really very much, a few hp during vtec. its supposed to give somewhere between 5-10 hp. some people say they can feel it, I'm not really sure.
sound...its not anything like those ricey civics, don't worry. it makes the vtec note deeper and a little louder. it still sounds clean though. you won't be mistaken for a civic.

It definitely does not sound like a Civic... it sounds very mean in VTEC range. Just get it... you'll love it. There is a little extra oomph after you install it too. It's been dynoed to add about 6-8hp. Now, whether you can feel 6-8hp is subjective... but it is there.
Anyway, trust me.. it was the first mod I did on my old CL and the first mod I did on my TL-S.
As for the install, I used the instructions from our FAQ and it took about 2 hours. Keep in mind that this was the first install I have ever done on a car... so if you're good around cars it will take you less time. http://wizardsworks.org/chod/acura/cai/
