Exhaust/CAI wrap - any benefits?

Saw this on the Eastwood site. It'll be under $50 for the materials. Thought about just wrapping the CAI.

I seem to remember Xenon7 doing this a while back. Hey man, where you at?

No. Wrap the CAI, exhaust wrap won't do anything....it's more for turbo applications.

yea I doubt itd do anything. Ever feel the AEM pipe after you shut the car off and you've been driving it a while? Its considerably colder than other stuff under the hood .. I guess because of the cold air constantly rushing through it.

I remenber this came up before, & it was deemed to be a PITA to put on & gave very little benifit, & may cause power loss on a NA car.

I'm here, I'm here- been sort of involved in other
projects here lately, but not to involved to give
some input on this.

Bascially, exhaust wraps help to retain heat in your exhaust system, which increases horsepower while reducing radiant heat damage. wrapping the system maintains hotter exhaust gases, decreases the density, and allows the exhaust gas to exit the system faster!

(either NA or TC type plumbing as Zapata mentioned)

I wrapped my CAI with a totally different product to reflect heat and reduce temps inside the CAI primairly for the track. This material is much thicker and has different properties than the wrap mentioned above

I did a test and it did give some temp reductions. Nothing
to write home about though.

I have my CAI wrapped in reflective tape... it helps.

During the turbo days, I had wrapped the downpipe in Thermo-Tec and wrapped the IC piping in reflective tape (Heat Shield)
