Need help resolving a slight plastic rattle.

I live in Southern California and most of the year it's sunny and my car is rattle free. However, when the cold weather comes around, I get a light rattle right above both driver and passanger windows - near the plastic part before the headliner starts.

I know it's just a matter of applying some sort of insulator to keep the two plastic parts from rubbing, I just don't know what to use.

Any suggestions, anyone?

I can't wait to have my car rattle free again.

Cold weather? In Southern California? What did it get down to, 50? Yikes it was 16 this morning! With cold weather metal and plastic shrink and they rattle.

Make sure you have the right spot. It can be difficult to tell where a sound is coming from inside a car. I thought I had a rattle at the door but it turned out to be the fuse box cover. If you push on the lower dash and the rattle stops it's probably the fuse box lid and you can stuff a piece of foam behind it. If it is actually the door you can try some silicone spray on the door seal.

Silicone spray sounds like a good solution. I will try this tonight.

Thanks for the replies guys.

I'm not too far from you myself at it gets down to the mid 30's where I am. Mine has the classic rear deck rattle and I've stuffed several roles of felt between the deck and rear glass but it still does it now and then. The pass seat also rattles when it is 'cold'. Havent found that one yet. Good luck. Let us know if you find it.
