holy f'ing shitballs....

I swear, NOBODY in this town sells breaker bars. The "best" I could find was a couple shops that sell bars that top a whopping 9-10 inches. One shop wanted (swear) $33 for a 10 inch breaker bar.

Meh, I might just talk to the maintenance guy where I work. He might let me bring my car into vehicle fitting and do the work there

Just get a pipe to slip over the ratchet. If the ratchet is good quality it should be able to handle the torque.

But the easiest way is using impact wrench.

Alright, got the engine bracket installed. Maybe later on this weekend (assuming it dries up outside) I'll install the rest of it.

So as far as adjusting the damper, if I wanted to help preserve my motor mounts, don't care at all about performance benefits, I'd just put it on it's stiffest setting?

Alright, installing the damper now.

In order to get that strut bracket on, do you loosen ALL the nuts you see there? The 4 nuts, the one across from it, then the big on in the middle?

Yeah that's what I was thinking. I tried turning it and it was kind of turning with the wrench. Freaked me out a bit.

Anyways, how much do you have to jack up the passenger side to get those bolts to drop down?

Yeah they're going down, but I swear the passenger side is like a foot and a half off the ground and I still can't slide the bracket in there.

You know you could just take the strut tower bolts out from inside the wiper cowl area, along with the strut mount bolts where the damper sits. Then you wouldn't have jack the car up and all that. This is the way I did it, and it went smoothly, but hey whatever works.

Yeah I'm definitely gonna try that.^^ Get this!

Jacked the car all the way up, it wouldn't raise it enough to lower the studs, tried to lower the jack, but I guess I cranked it up TOO much, so when I tried to crank it back, it was working for a little bit, then BAM! Car shifted off the jack, fell onto the ground, and left me with a pretty nice gash on my hand. btw my jack is kinda fucked. The brackets on the bottom of it are bent now, so it won't stand up straight. It was the OEM jack, so maybe nothing of value was lost?

JUNKYARD for an replacement lol, but yeah i think i got two or three bent ones laying around my mom's house somewhere, cause the car shifted on me (but i would still at least get a replacement one though, so when you do get a flat you have something)

and for a decent jack, you can go down to like autozone or something and get a hydraulic one for only like $30 or something, and it makes life SO MUCH easier (not the best but works for a DIY'er though)

^^^ Woah...
Holy Crap dude you got lucky you didn't get seriously injured!!!! This is a perfect example for anyone reading this: always use jack stand when jacking up your car.
This also makes my method of install much more appealing. Basically unbolt or loosen the entire strut bar raise it up and install the torque damper bracket... Done

Yeah the whole thing seemed to happen in slow motion, so I quickly jumped back (not before getting gashed on the hand by the jack)

btw the OEM jack is kinda crap anyways. It has no side supports of any kind to keep it from leaning in either direction. It'd be like if you stuck a Kit Kat bar on it's side and expected it to support any amount of weight.

Keep the names coming. If we get to 15 paid orders I will do the GB again. I will need to see a list of 15 people first though. Thanks.
