I figured problems would eventually start to surface with the new Nissan's, every car company goes through it's share of problems with it's new models.

20K and new pads and resurfacing is not really a problem. I had that done on the CL-S at 17K

My CLS was done at 9K!!! My Brembos on the G are spectacular. Yes, the dust is a pain in the ass, but I just keep a T-shirt in the trunk to wipe them down every other day or so and it's fine. The stopping power is fucking amazing with these things!!!

I don't see why the rotors needed to be machined... And these are Brembo pads... PERFORMANCE pads... Not bad for 22k miles, IMHO.

My best friend is a mechanic here in NJ. He does brakes and exhaust as a specialty. He says that replacing the pads and not turning the rotors is a huge mistake. Even though they feel smooth to your touch, they in fact are full of tiny grooves and that cuts your braking surface down by as much as 30%. He's not a proponent of grinding them down just takin enough surface off to be "baby butt" smooth.

He also agrees with me on the issue of CAD/CAM and the fact that the manufacurers are building the brakes as just enough to stop the car.

No one thinks the Cl is a POS...and no one thinks the G's & Z's are perfect...

Besides, this is a repost.

First year cars always have issues. That's why I don't buy 1st year cars.

Hmmm really? I'll have to look into that. I still have so few miles that nothing, absolutely nothing, is wrong. Well, except for my EZ-Pass is held on the windshield with a suction cup device and it fell off in the heat and scratched the center console.

And a bullet sized hole in the windshield from a truck rock.

I had my rotors and pads replaced at 1000 miles because I told the dealer about a squeal in stop and go traffic (known issue with Brembos, I found that out AFTER the fact) and the fuckers TURNED them. The rotors are 500 bucks a piece!!!

I went back, bitched at my dealer, and got 4 brand new Brembo Rotors/Pads and 4 brand new 18" rims because the morons used an airgun to remount the tires after they turned the rotors and scratched the shit out of every lug hole!!!

The only thing I really miss about Acura is the service I got from them.
