Any body know what this is? My car is getting a new tranny and they said that the EGR valve needs to be replaced or the car wont shift properly. They want $636! So I told the service advisor NO. They also mentioned how the motor mount was broken but ACURA good willed that.

 

Motor mount replacement should be included with the tranny. EGR is emissions & has nothing to do with how the tranny shifts. Does the car have any problems beside the tranny?
A good throttle body & IAC valve cleaning will likely fix whatever BS the dealer is spitting out.

 

 

Yeah isn't the EGR just an emissions thing?

 

Thanks. No the car has never had a single problem, and I don't think it has one now. It just had emissions tested less than 2 weeks ago so I guess It will be good to go. Thanks again for the speedy response.

 

I believe the EGR valve was the subject of a recall a couple years ago.
You might want to check that out.
