ECU and Pressure Regulator
ECU and Pressure Regulator
My tranny was replaced yesterday by Acura at 65K under Goodwill and they also replaced the ECU and Pressure Regulator. Can someone fill me in on what they do?? Thanks
what do you mean what they do? The ECU controls the motor and trans, the Fuel Pressure Regulator does just that. regulates the pressure. The new ECU cuts back power slightly durring shifts and changes the shift mapping to allow less slipping of the clutches to help improve trans reliability.
Sorry for what may have seemed like a foolish question- not sure what ECM stands or if it controls all of the operations of the motor and trans (i.e. fuel mixture, idle speed, etc.) Also, the invoice just said pressure regulator and I was not clear what pressure it was referring to or how that impacts the tranny/engine.
