DVD Kit?

DVD Kit?
I'm looking for the DVD kit that can transform my Navi into a DVD player. I checked out the Acura FAQ and the page either seems to be down or I really believe it no longe exists.
So if anyone has a page or some info to contribute it would be greatly appreciated.
Tnx

shit, that would be a dream come true, but the bad news is that the nav screen might be limited in images it displays, and the movies wouldn't be compatable, I think. but post info If you get some, I really am not sure...

Yup there is one
There is a kit that will let you watch DVD's on your navi screen. Go to acura-tl.com and do a search you can also ask streeteffectz and I am sure he can hook you up as well. It is a novelty that sold me on the car and I would highly recommend it even if just for novelty sake(I got it to make the gurls creeeaaaaammmm).

This thread from the TL forum describes it in explicit detail... look for STEVESTMS's post half way down.
He describes the exact process to modify the Pioneer video converter and which wires to tap in the car.
Hope this helps.

First you need to decide how much or how little you wish to do. You must have a portable DVD player and then you should determine if you want to use the video, the stock Navi display, or another external display as your screen. I'm doing all three.
Most if not all of the parts are listed at my link. That link probably won't be there long because Fotki is a paid service and I'm not paying anything.

actually there IS a nav conversion kit, and WOW i have it on my car
you just need to buy the converter for around $120 bucks.
i'm installing the kit on a Bay area buddy's CL this saturday, and i was offered money to install the kit on MOST of the bay area peeps, since i have already done it myself.
so if your interested and live in the bay area, CA, give me a buzz and i can install it for you!
before i installed my kit on my own, i was quoted $400 bucks for the install at a local shop! screw that!
plus, i did my install a little different than the instructions on the TL site
I DID NOT RIP APART MY ENTIRE CENTER CONSOLE!!!!!!!!!!!
you DO NOT need to even do that, it's dumb to do it that way!
i just tapped into the wires coming off the DVD rom in the trunk.
well anyway, contact me if you have any questions.
*EDIT*
the RGB converter uses a composite video input. so you can play most ANYTHING that has a video out, JUST like normal in your own house on your own TV!
i have my PS2 plugged in on mine and that little screen is sharp as hell! way better than most of the other "screens" in other cars. i think because the navi screen is like a monitor, and it has a great resolution! i have GT3 running on it ususally, and the cars are just so damn sharp!
and to get sound, you CAN buy an RF modulator for around $44 bucks at some places.

**ATTENTION EVERYBODY**
i'm gonna be doing a nav conversion this weekend at my house for a fellow club member, and i'm going to make BETTER instructions on how to do it since i will have a digi cam to take pics of the install process.
so if anybody wants to actually do this, process, i'm finally gonna make the instructions easier for everybody THIS weekend.
