Door trim???

I would like to say hello first and new to the forum. I bought a 03 acura cl type s black on black auto non-navi.

now on to the question.... i have black leather with the factory aluminum trim, i am in process of turning everything over the burlwood, and have purchased the wood/leather steering wheel, instrument gauge, a/c vents, and shift knob. Have also found on ebay the trim on the left and right side of center console in wood from another 03' tl but still need to find the factory door trim and rear trim that replaces the aluminum trim to burlwood. The dealer wont even sell these parts seprately cause you have to buy the whole door panels. I am hoping maybe someone has a wrecked CL or can get there hands on these parts for me?? will pay via paypal or money order. I am also hoping the center trim i ordered off ebay will fit cause it came from an 03 tl.

i hate that acura went to the damn aluminum trim and i think the wood looks so much more classy with the black leather interior.....

all feedback and help is appreciated!!!

thanks,
Jon

BUT - lesson learned, one mans trash err mod to interior, IS another mans treasure.
SO- don't be surprised if you can sell the original bits and pieces!

Does anyone else in the NJ area want to swap, I live in union county in north jeresy. Or does anyone know where I can just buy the trim from for the doors?

Thanx

You want to put burlwood on the black interior? Doesn't sound to good to me.

yeah, I agree with Phipark... I have SSM with ebony interior and I love the aluminum trim in my car. My parents have 02 TL with ebony interior, (wood trim) and believe me it's not as fancy as you think it would appear. Trims aren't even made of REAL wood plus it needs to be lighter color like the ones from Lexus. just my two cents!

Fake wood hater here.
One of the main reasons I sold my first 6 speed was the fake brown wood, it also had the tan interior I didn't like. Shiny plastic wood does not look luxo to me. I added real brushed aluminum to my dash and it looks great IMO with the stock silver trim. To each his own. I admit the wood looks better with the black interior than the tan.
Maybe you should have got the tan interior and everything would have been wood already.

You have aluminum trim? I thought only the 6 speeds had that trim?
For the door panels, yes you need the whole door panel, as well as the rear side panels. You can pull the wood trim off, but it's held on with rivits. You need to figure out a way to stick it back on the door panel, & have it stay there.
