Any thing is possible with the right buget.
Was you considering this for a fwd or rwd set up?
Obviously more than a motor would be needed but, assume you would know that much..

Our car is too front heavy as it is. A v6 has enough power for this car, no reason to swap engines, if anything do a supercharger or custom turbo. I am trying to find ways to lighten my car, not make it heavier and more front weight biased. Thats my opinion atleast unless it is gonna be a drag strip only car that dsnt turn.

I would'nt.
I was just asking weight wise.
It would'nt be much of a down grade having a 500 hp 4 banger engine,"if you could deal with the horrible 4 banger sound".

ok, if you are going to do a motor swap......... people always go for POS v8s the states are making (i say that because every person in east tennessee does it).....do something no one would think of like an RB26 swap.....

How about a turbo/twin turbo supra engine and 6 spd.
You will be able to make big power.

Since we're talking about fairy-tale swaps, how about a BMW S62?

2JZs are played out, and they dont sound good IMO. If Im doing a crazy swap, I want the whole package, and that includes the way it sounds.

well the reason i asked is cause a well known performance shop in Arlington called Alamo AutoSports tht did a awesome tune on my car said tht they've swap a j32a1 from a 99 tl with a ls4 5.3 from a 2008 impala ss!
and when i asked thm how much it costed for the swap they said it was around 6-7k
idk i think it'll prolly be a good swap!
having tht kinda Trans am sound coming from a cl would b pretty cool!

Why did you even ask the question in the first place if these guys said it was possible? It woud've been much more dramatic if you went ahead and dropped the 7k to show us all this was possible.

I dont see why its not possible. The New Impalas are FWD, so just fab mounts and work out the electrical.

^ Impala engine would be the best choice for an engine swap money wise

I think any transverse mounted engine would work and be more cost effective... I wouldn't try anything too wild because it will bring many headaches and you will be broke before it's over.

slightly different radiater support for the different headlights and body panels, but otherwise the engine bay is EXACTLY the same between the two

easy, as it says in the title, put a cut out on there ( or basically take off the cat and every thing back from that; it will louden it up, and give a deep rumble at the same time)

303hp and 323tq. For the money spent on the swap you could have a 3.5 (or 3.6l) J and supercharge it with damn good tuning and have more power.

Doesnt matter though, the power will be wasted going to the wrong wheels.
