come on J series GURUS!!! chime in!!lol
if you can get it that cheap then just get it and find out LOL...im sure someone on the site we cant mention could tell you.
It would have to be the same casted bottom end in order for all your oil lines, and cooling lines to match. And by that, I mean if you were to look at the bare block, you will find lines that run through it (I'm not referring to hoses).
They don't match. Your head gaskets on the J32 won't work for that engine. Your tranny won't bolt up to that block. All the blocks that are interchangable have been mentioned. If it hasn't been mentioned, it's because it doesn't work. All newer engines have a different casting. The right group to ask if those J37 engines would work, would be newer RL owners, and maybe the TL owners. But that's something for them to figure out.
Now, I'm not saying you can't swap out the WHOLE engine and TRANSMISSION. Because that you could possibly do with some serious work.
The engines off the top of my head that are compatible with one another including the transmission are:
J30A1, J32A1, J32A2, J35A1, J35A3, J35A4

I can tell you that the J32A2 head should bolt up because the head gaskets are 95% identical. The only difference is the oil drain passage. The J37 has a wider hole..
The J32A2 uses a 89mm bore and J37 uses a 90mm bore. I think it should work.

Still need a view of the side of the block to compare with the bolt pattern of the tranny. Because to my knowledge, it won't work. Once the newer J series came out, they came out with all new casting. Unless they went with a block of the old style casting, it won't work. But more information won't hurt anyone if you guys can dig it up.
